A Heart Warming Story from inside the Rams Paddock 🐏

This year's 'Benchmark Surveys WA Pink Rams Day' has a significant meaning for two of our players, Matt & Jason Nicholas. At Christmas time last year, their mother Cheryl passed away after a long battle with breast cancer.

To honour their Mum, the boys have gotten involved with Pink Rams Day. Matt, organised through his work Benchmark Surveys WA, to fund the day by buying a set of Jumpers & Jason, through his catering work, organised Nosh Catering to donate all the food for the Pink Rams function 🩷

The club would like to thank Matt and Jason, as well as Benchmark Surveys and Nosh Catering for their effort and contribution towards the Pink Rams
Initiative.

The club is so proud of Matt and Jason, and we are grateful that you are apart of the Ram Fam 🐏

A special achievement this weekend, Ben Scotson will take to the field for his 100th game. Such a special achievement as Ben is still a colts player for the club!

In 2013 at 10 years old Ben Scotson turned up to the club and was running water for the teams. We all thought he was someone's son, but to our a surprise he was just a kid that turned up one day. He was asked why he was there, to which he simply replied - I LOVE THE RAMS 🐏

The club congratulates Ben on this achievement and knowledges his commitment and spirit for the Melville Football Club.

Big Saturday locked in this weekend as we host both Men’s and Women’s League finals!!

Huge thank you to Brad Robbins from A Stitch in Time for coming down last night and presenting to our playing group.

A Stitch in Time's mission is to empower Western Australians to be forces of change in our community. Together, we can create positive health and well-being outcomes.

Well done to the four amazing individuals who decided to brave the ice bath challenge to raise funds for A Stitch in Time to continue to be able to deliver to sporting clubs and schools.

We managed to raise $2,200 so well done all involved!

NAIDOC ROUNDS

Over the past 2 weeks Melville Football Club celebrated NAIDOC round.

It was an opportunity for all members, players, supporters and community members to come together to celebrate the rich history, diverse cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the oldest continuing cultures.

A big thank you to our jumper sponsors: Gate Boys, Bunbara, Yorganup and Vivente.
Through our jumper auction we were able to donate $1,700 to Yorganup, who are WA's only Aboriginal foster care agency.

A huge shout out to Waverley Burling, who organised many of the celebrations over the two weekends and provided all opposition teams with prints as gifts before the game. Every opposition club has been blown away by the gifts and have sent their thanks and appreciation through.

We are proud of our club and community, where we are fostering understanding and appreciation, strengthening our culture as a diverse, inclusive and safe football family.

NAIDOC WEEK 2023

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

The Melville Rams will celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of first nations members of our football club and the broader community over the next two rounds.

We encourage everyone to join us for all of the celebrations shown below.

Our logo for this year, designed by Waverley Burling, which symbolises "The club as a meeting place, the U shapes represent people and the footprints show the players and coaches in the team."

COACHES 2022
LEAGUE, RESERVES, COLTS, THIRDS & WOMEN’S

An exciting opportunity is offered at the Melville FC as we are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced coaches to fill any vacancies in the League, Reserves, Colts, Thirds and Women’s teams for the 2022 season.
The League and Reserves sides have made the last two grand finals in a row and have earned promotion into B Grade for Season 2022. The women’s side had their inaugural season in 2021 and made the semi-final. This success is due to a very strong culture at the club and a close relationship between the club, coaches and all members.

The Rams are seeking people who have a strong emphasis on club culture, player development and retention who can make a positive impact on our club both on and off the field.

Applicants are required to submit an expression of interest specifically addressing why they chose to apply, relevant experience and what benefits they can bring to the club. Applicants may be asked to interview in the process to seek further information, remuneration options can be discussed at this stage.

SUPER SATURDAY

Last weekend the Rams held two major events together. During the day we held our annual Past Players and Sponsors day. As usual, we awarded two new members with Life Membership. Congratulations to Michael Seed and Brent Pitcher on receiving these.
Special to Saturday was the awarding of only the fourth DOUBLE Life Membership at the club to Peter Della Bona. A very prestigious award for a member who has gone above and beyond for over 20 years and is a massive reason as to why the club continues to be successful over this time.

At night, we recognised Mental Health round with the shaving of Michael Edgar’s luscious hair. A massive shoutout to this legend who started his quest to raise $4000 and ended up raising over $6000 in the end. A massive effort and a thank you to all those who donated or helped out on the night, especially our sponsor Dashing Hair and Beauty.

To top it off, the Girls won their first final and the League qualified 2nd on the ladder so host a final this weekend!!
