Never drawn a human body before? Can't draw stick figures? Don't know which end of the pencil to use? ;-)
This is the perfect class for you. Minimum of 4 people.
Join one of our sessions or organise for us to come to your party. All you have to do is turn up (and maybe do what you're told ;-) )
Drawing the female body for absolute beginners. We'll run through a series of weird and wonderful exercises and make you think and draw like you didn't think you could. What makes this class different to all the other n**e drawing classes? The model will be facilita
If you're been to one of my sessions this re-post will resonate with you.
Using fun materials, both hands, playing with stuff!! Art doesn't have to look like a photo, you just have to enjoy the process of making it!
Scribbley peeps in Perth.

I love doing a Saturday arvo draw! Nothing else happens on Saturday afternoons it's quiet, it keeps me away from online shopping, it's early enough so I can go and eat afterwards and not want to just go home fall asleep.
There's a lot of wins (and wines!) for Saturday afternoon drawing.
Come and join me for a drink, a giggle, a pep talk and DRAW at a CBD location, my favourite whisky and saké bar,

It's back!🌸 Don't miss out on our Behind Closed Doors session on Saturday, September 9! The session includes all materials and tuition and is hosted by the life model for this 2-hour life drawing class. Tickets are $85 per person and include a cocktail on arrival, as well as a 2 hour bottomless bubbles package.
Poppets!!
Are any of your muddy-pawed pottery people in the Peel area?
My friends at Two Muddy Men in Mandurah are looking for a Studio Assistant. This would be *idea* for someone who is interested in pottery as the job has some serious perks, such as kiln time, that only a pott-head will fully appreciate.
I'm on again at my favourite little underground whisky bar in Perth, Goody Two's!
Session starts at 4pm, for 2 hours of scribbles and giggles and bottomless bubbles. Perfect start to a night out, particularly if you don't want a late one! Start at Goody's, stay for another drinky-poo after the session and then head off for a om-nom-nom somewhere.
Perfect!!
Jump over to their calendar to book a comfy chair :-)

I love this quote!!!
And I love thinking about drawing and creating art as an invention.
Tickles both sides of my brain that way!
I love a drawing that doesn't look like a photo, that makes you think about what you're looking at, that gives the view a chance to consider the image and find their own way with it.
Feels like a home-cooked meal rather than a frozen meal.
(I'm surprised I related art to savoury food and not cupcakes, probably because it's winter and need some warming up!)
I've seen some VERY ORGANISED people doing some serious adult stuff and planning gatherings for the October-November party season already. I know?!!! I need to take some lessons on adulting from them.
But if I've now got you thinking about that as well, then have a thinking a life drawing session. Model can either be draped or undraped, I can come to you - and I'll travel a FAAAAAAIIIIIR way for a session. (I've even been up to Newman for a session!)
I bring all the stuff so you just need to bring the people and the place. Easy peasy! Give me a yodel if you want some more deets.
(Or if you want something else for your party talk to me about a bellydance jam or a wardrobe TED talk!)
New Session Alert!
Heading to Rockingham for Saturday 27 May at 2pm.
Everything provided - materials, guidance & tuition, chortles, encouragement, glass of wine (aka creative juice).
No experience necessary!
Come and be creative surrounded by books and friends.
Sounds like fun, right?! And that's without me even factoring in Kerry from MyLittleBookshop there.
See the Facebook event page for event and ticketing details.

Look at these fruity little cherubs!!!
What a beautiful hens party this was!
Even though I'm a Nancy Nude-alot I also LOVE a wardrobe directive.
Erin's glamorous and gorgeous Tutti Frutti party was a delight to the eyeballs, and then we sprinkled some Model Speaks magic on the top.
Held at Pia Gaze Studio in North Perth no one let a blank canvas freak them out.
It helps when I'm telling you what to do and herding all the cats :)
I've got a couple of public sessions coming up soon - you might like to come along with your mum!

Back to our usual female model for both of those sessions.
I'll have my heater ready to rumble!
(Erin, I so can't get over how good you all look in these!)
Friday night drinks with the girls, just got a little bit more fancy.
Anni’s low-key birthday celebrations at her place involved 15 of her yoga friends, gathered around the kitchen and dining area for snacks, drinks and art. This wasn’t an actual Model Speaks session, just a Friday night art night with her friends. She had a bunch of “art toys” for the to play with – charcoal, pencils, white and black paper, oil pastels and CLAY!!!! And then found a friendly life model to Stand in the Place with She Lives (queue the REM!).
Was so great to see people give it a go, remember their drawing skills from yonks ago, get some colour happening, eat snacks, have a bevo and just chill.
And some serious empathy in the room for my posing, these women understand exactly what it is to be in some awkward pose for a while. But generally not quite so awkward nor quite so long as a life model.
I only took a couple of snaps of their work but the little clay figures they made, the oil pastels on black paper and the charcoal drawings were so much fun!! What a lovely way to celebrate a birthday. Thanks for inviting me to your party, Anni!
But seriously... why wait for a hens party or a birthday? The best thing about being an adult is that you can buy a packet of Tim Tams whenever you like ;-)

After a Model Speaks session people often tell me how much better it was than they thought it was going to be.
I'm never quite sure how to take that ;)
But the best I can descend it is a encouraging, fun, body-positive thought-provoking session.
With nudity and jokes involved so it feels a bit like a Fringe show :)
All materials and tuition provided. You just show up and follow instructions, however you want to do them.
Just the right amount of seriousness and frivolity.
In Scarborough on Wednesday 22 March.
The Model Speaks is back!
If you think you can’t draw, but have wanted to give it a go, well then, this is the evening for you! A chance to try life drawing – learn to draw an “undraped” female model – n**e, that is!
All materials are provided, charcoals, paper, easels, drawing boards and a glass of vino. The lovely Jane will take you through various exercises and show you some easy techniques and new perspectives!
Book in now https://theartspacecollective.com/workshop/the-model-speaks-life-drawing-for-nervous-non-drawers-2/2023-03-22/
I love the magic of a continuous line drawing.
A single line that just meanders into a picture and then goes off to go and be the margin in a text book or something else equally as dull.
Such magic!
I love that you don't need to draw every side and angle of the thing you are looking at for it to be perfectly recognisable to the viewer.
Like, see? I told you all that continuous line drawings are next level awesome and you can use them to draw anything from people to teapots / cups.
Was not tricking. For a change ;-)
I think my favourite is the rooster. I'm such a chicken fan! And it happens to be by Picasso. He obviously liked them too.
Smart man.
It's been a while between posts, right?
In between modelling for at sessions and day jobs I thought I'd throw in doing a Fringe show!! Hooley Dooley!
So while I've been charging up the tech for the shows I've noticed this pulls off amazing att from the last couple of sessions and thought it was about time to post these. Isn't this gorgeous!?! Some by a beginner drawer at one of my sessions.
I don't know about you but my hands are itching to colour this in!
Step away from the crayons, Jane!!
But if this man's your fingers itchy to draw then I've got a session coming up soon on 22 Feb!! Keep your eyes peeled!
The clever eagle eyes of .art.seeker recognised me in this post on 's post from 2021. That was forever ago!!
But an absolutely wonderful painting! She got me!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you want to see more of her work, go see little exhibition at - she had the most darling chicken painting on the wall!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Modelling is generally quiet at this time of year and I've been juggling a Fringe show asking with other work so it's been nice to be quiet. However next week it seriously kicks off with a bang again with a bunch of draped high school sessions!
Barefaced video. This feels like the last frontier - is rather be noood than face naked! :-D
Have just added another session for Friday, 16 December in Bayswater at The Laneway Art Space
All the things provided - materials, instruction, non gratuitous nood-ity, snacks, bevos!!
More details on the event page, or just give me a holler :)
The Model Speaks in Bayswater
Finally! A day I don't have to pack a scarf and beanie for!
Perfect timing as I've got a beginners life drawing workshop on this Wednesday night in Scarborough (16 November 7pm-9pm)
There are a few more spots available for bums on seats. Clothed ones. ;)
(['ve got the n**e one sorted)

Heya Groovers!!
Shall I organise a session for a Friday night in Bayswater at the end of November / beginning of December?
Shall I see if I can get my wardrobe buddy Ciara to come along and talk about style?
The All and Nothing session!
And both of us can talk legs of easels so it will be a fun night.
Raise your hand if you're keen!!
Hello Spring, hello wedding season, hello hens parties!!!
Normally I like to encourage people to have a female model for hens parties - get the feminine energy flowing, talk about creativity and body positivity and celebrate the hen!
However when the Hen is a Him and its a mixed crowd in black tie then it's great to be able to support a performing artist by having them model instead.
Supporting the arts - both visual and performing!
https://linktr.ee/themodelspeaks
But you don't need to wait for a hens party to have life drawing session. You can organise your own get together (minimum of 5 people) or come to an open session. The next one is on Wednesday, 16 November at 7pm in Scarborough.
Beginners life drawing session this Saturday 22 October. 4pm-6pm in the Perth CBD at my favourite whisky bar, Goody Two's !
All tuition, materials, lame jokes, sartorial compliments, modelling and drinks (bubbles!) provided
:-D
And the model will be a MALE!!!!

Apparently I did not read the "weekends are for resting" memo that was circulated circa 2006.
Starting with Zumba on Friday evening at the gym (having to go to the gym because our shower wasn't working - thought I should probably do some exercise while I was there), to modelling for a high school on Saturday morning, holding a Model Speaks workshop with an EL FABBO male model burlesque STAR on Saturday evening, modelling for a community group on Sunday morning and holding a session with another EL FABBO model (i.e. me :-) at Chittering Acres for a great group of gals.
Bloody hell. My cup runneth over.
(If only my eyeballs could keep up.)
If you're looking for an end of year get-together or hens party event or just a book club without having to read a book (because no-one liked it), then I can come to you and bring all the materials, nudity and lame jokes you could possibly ask for.
Minimum number of participants is 5.
(For some of you that is easier done than others. Hell, I can't even organise 1 person to hang out with for coffee!)
Wooby wooby wooby!!
Scarin' season.
Sort of.
More like dress-up season and start going out because it's not wind chill factor 50 season.
Which is also good news if you're a male model
Like the one we'll be drawing next Saturday at Goody Twos!!!
AWESOME!!
If you feel like having a scribble, starting your night off with some low key creative feel good times and a bunch of bevies, then come on down to Goody Twos. I'll be there will all the materials, tuition, average humour and a fancy outfit (because I get to keep it on at this session!)
Book though the Goody Twos website - it's on their calendar and head to the date 22 October - you'll see the Behind Closed Doors session listed. That's the one that you want, baby.
Woo, woo, woo.....
For tickets, head to the Goody Twos booking page at:

Monday nights are pretty quiet so I'm confident that there are plenty of you who might have some space in their diary tomorrow night to come and have a draw with us at Pigeonhole Perth :))
7pm-9pm for $15
Monday 3 October
They have a whole month of cool stuff lined up. I can't wait!!
https://pigeonhole.com/flockfestival/
Getting ready for a session today at Goody Two's for a hens party and I'm going through the drawings from the last session. So much work!! So much hidden talent!!
I throw in as many techniques and materials as we can do in a 2 hour session because I want everyone to try as many things as possible and maybe find one that really suits them.
Getting our hands dirty and having a play with everything in the pencil case!
If you're looking for a more art-focussed hens party life drawing event then have a chat with me. I can come to you out you can book a session at Goodys :)
Squeakers!
Another workshop session has just gone live on The Art Space Collective website for Tuesday, 20 September at 7pm.

And kind of crazy algorithm stuff right there!
Anyway, if you like me n**e you'll probably really like me with clothes on! I'll be talking about wardrobe philosophy, creativity, dopamine dressing, confidence, joy and all the good stuff in my show this Friday, 29 July in Bayswater.

Oh my friends, you *need* this social media account in your lives.
Art does not need to look like a photo. Art does not have to be fancy.
Art can be anything you bloody like.
Art plus humour is awesome.
New commission finished!!
I thought you only got wild Guinea Pigs in Papua New Guinea, but Ayeshea Rayner was lucky enough to get a photograph of this one at a mountain bike track in Norfolk.
I don’t know what he’s called, but I’ve named him Hairy Styles.
Mr Styles likes meat-free Milk Tray, cold calling pensioners to offer them rides on his tandem, and going down the pub in his old PE Kit because all his clothes have been washed for holiday.
I’ve drawn this one in my ultra-realistic style, so usual reminder that my picture is the image on the right.
Review from the customer:
‘You’ve captured it perfectly. Is what I would say if you were drawing a neglected cheese puff, a barber’s ear plug, a forgotten cocktail sausage, Gandalf after an industrial accident at the Wotsit factory…..’
Holy mackerel!
Sometimes life is just about keeping on pushing the camel until it goes through the eye of the needle - and hoping like hell you don't just ram yourself into it's clacker.
As Facebook becomes ever more difficult trying to post about life drawing - because female nudity is a dangerous thing? because they don't understand the difference between nudity and prawn-ography? who knows?
But what would really help the IT Crowd is to just perhaps try out life drawing and seeing all the benefits that it will give.
It realigns the way you see people and body.
And at The Model Speaks I also like to realign how you see your own body, your own creativity, what exactly that is - and give you permission to have a go!
Life drawing is never about drawing - it's all about seeing. It's about playing with the gears in your head to see people differently.
I've got a couple of sessions on this week - neither of which I can currently create events for (thanks (not) Facebook).

Nothing like a bit of life drawing on a Tuesday night in the middle of winter - as long as you're the one drawing and not posing, right?
;-)
Lucky for you I have a short memory and keep forgetting that it's winter and a tad breezy.
But really, as soon as I start talking then my enthusiasm for life drawing, being creative, getting your hands grubby with art supplies, and the body positivity aspect of drawing real live people keep me toasty warm.
This is a 2hour guided session of beginner's life drawing. Everything is provided - materials, tuition, ideas, jokes, a glass of sparkling.
Life drawing is all about the process and not the product. Who even knows what the destination is? We're just here for the journey.
Come draw with me!!

Look at these happy little faces!
Their ears were probably numb after I talked to them for 2 hours about life drawing, creativity, how awesome my kimono was and everything in between!
I've got another one of these sessions at The Art Space Collective coming up in July and also heading to Goody Two's soonish (if you like your art with a side serve of cocktails!).
Or if you want your own session for you and your friends and your own drinks cupboard and snack fridge then give me a holler!
(The kimono is from a local seller in Maylands. BittaLime Kimonos)
So who of you remembers me talking about stick figures and the delight of simple things done well?
This can apply to art or toast or outfits - same principle, right? :-)
Well you may also have heard me talking about Temby.
Not only does she create delightful life drawings but also plays around with cubism.
She's holding a session at art space collective soon for beginners cubism. How bloody cool is this?!?!?!?
I can't even recall anyone doing a session on cubism so this is pretty special.
And a real yodel out here to all the engineers in the house, the people that don't think they're creative, the people who think straight lines are the best thing since sliced bread... ? You know what I mean.
This is going to be a pretty nice chilled scribble session.
Happening on Saturday, 25 June 10am-1pm
-------
Casey Temby makes cubism super easy! In just a few quick steps and with a glass of wine, you could have a beautiful handmade artwork to hang in your own home! Bring a friend or make one to a unique Art Space workshop led by experienced and talented artist, Casey Temby.
Upcoming class on the 25th of June book via our website.

Hello winter. BRRRRRR! It feels like it's been winter for about 3 months already.
But thankfully, when I'm doing a Model's Speaks session I can keep myself fairly warm just be talking so much - all that hot air and I can't engage talk and think about how cool the air is!
But seriously, we do turn the heaters on and with room full of people keeping their minds and hands busy, you barely have time to think about whether you should have worn your sofa or your dress trackie pants.
:-)
I've got another session happening at The Art Space Collective in Scarborough this coming Wednesday, 15 June at 7pm. I bring all the things, you just turn up with your favourite beverage and some snacks. I might even bring something sparkly with me...

Our Story
The Model Speaks encourages creativity and body positivity.
When we talk about Body Positivity over here at TMS, we're not talking about fitspo images of gym taut bodies and not talking about large people happy to wear bkinis in public (though we absolutely approve of this - every body is a bikini / mankini body :-).
We're mainly focused on celebrating our bodies for the amazing vehicles that get us through life on a day-to-day basis. We all put them through hell - we don't feed them or rest them right, we exercise too much or too little, give them too much sun, not enough water, stress them absolutely out. Yet still they cart us around. Sometimes the wheels fall off and we get ill but it's amazing how much they can cope with. Bloody hell, we all treat our cars better than our bodies!
We also focus on "n**e is not rude". Everyone has a body, but the only time we seem to see nudity in public is in an erotic sense. The Model Speaks is trying to bring "non-sexy" back :-) (Oi! Move over JT!).
