Working on strength exercises can help you with muscle toning. That doesn't mean you'll get big muscles. You'll only get big muscles if you eat 2500 calories a day. Most likely you're eating around 1800 at the moment. Muscle is smaller than fat, so a bit of toned muscle will give you more of a fit look.
