Groves & Partners is a specialist advisory practice. We act for medium sized private companies to provide business valuation, merger and acquisition, and specialist technical advisory services. We’re not a tax or legal firm – instead, we work with our clients and their established advisors to provide specialist advice to solve interesting and sometimes tricky problems.

What will you get to do?

Based in our Sydney office at Woolloomooloo, no two days will be the same in this role. Some activities may include:

Valuations: conducting industry research, analysing company financial performance, reviewing company operations and activities, drafting client correspondence and expert reports.

M&A: drafting information memorandums, identifying and researching target company acquirers, preparing client proposals.

Advisory: Working with distressed and high growth companies to draft client advice and formulate client strategies.
Marketing: assisting with firm marketing initiatives including drafting blog articles for our website and attending marketing events.

Further education and career development: Firm funded further education opportunities.

Your key skills and qualifications

You’ll be confident, hard working and a lateral thinker. Importantly:

You are studying or recently graduated from a business or accounting degree.
You may (but not essential) have undertaken a law degree in addition to your business or accounting degree.
You might consider undertaking the Chartered Accountants Program – either now or in the future.
You are a confident communicator, with very strong written language skills. You are highly skilled at presenting both simple and complex written arguments quickly and in a concise and logical manner.
You have a basic understanding of standard financial statements, their meanings and inter-relation.
You are curious and excited about business and commercial matters and interested in the private business economy.
