Busy bee: This Year 2 student is a published author Despite school and play keeping her busy, Year 2 student Aahana Chakraborty found the time to weave together her love for honeybees, books and stories into her first work that reminds us how vital bees are for the environment.

We’ve 🐝n a bit quiet....but busy refreshing wraps for some of our loyal customers.

Beeswax wraps will deteriorate over time. They are, after all, cotton fabric & wax. Nothing else added.

That’s why we offer free ‘refresh’ on all wrap purchases.

What’s a refresh?

We dip the wrap in freshly melted beeswax and finish it off in the oven. This gives a smooth, crinkle-free, fresh layer of wax and will have your wrap looking as good as new.

Your wrap can be refreshed more than once. In fact as many times as the fabric will allow!

- The honey bee is the only insect that produces food eaten by man.
- It only takes one ounce of honey to fuel a bee's flight around the world.
- Honey bees fly at up to 28 kilometres an hour.
- A honey bee visits 50-100 flowers during a collection trip.
- The average honey bee will actually make only one-twelfth of a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime.
- Worker honey bees live for about 4 weeks in the spring or summer but up to 6 months during the winter.
- The queen bee lives for about 2-3 years. She is the busiest in the summer months when the hive needs to be at its maximum strength and lays up to 2500 eggs a day.
