Multicultural communities across Australia rely on international wholesalers and retailers to supply them with a taste of home and provide all Australians with a wide range of culinary delicacies. However, not all of these delicacies have been through the same level of quality assurance that products produced or packed in Australia may have been. For this reason, National Measurement Institute Australia Trade Measurement inspectors will be conducting audits nationally from 18-22 March to make sure everyone is getting the culinary experience they are after.

The audit campaign will focus on retailers, wholesalers and importers who produce, import, and distribute seasonal produce, specialty food and grocery items sold in international food stores and grocers. Approximately 400 site visits will take place across Australia to make sure customers of all products imported and distributed in Australia are getting what they pay for.
