🏎️ Yesterday in Monza, Leclerc triumphed in the Italian Grand Prix with Ferrari! 🏆 But did you know that since 2021, the trophy for the Italian Grand Prix has been designed by an artist through a collaboration with Pirelli HangarBicocca? This year, the honour went to renowned Italian artist Andrea Sala, who created the stunning "Vrooom" trophy. The name "Vrooom" was chosen because it’s an onomatopoeic word that captures the sound of a powerful engine accelerating or running at high speeds. This unique piece blends art with Italian industrial design, celebrating speed and energy. Sala, whose works are featured in major museums and collections, has always explored the relationship between art, design history and Italian production.
Congratulations, Charles Leclerc for taking this stunning trophy home! 🎉

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bruno Buttini a distinguished master printer and a cherished collaborator of our Institute. With over fifty years of experience, Bruno made significant contributions to the arts and cultural community in both Italy and Australia.
Bruno's dedication was evident through his leadership roles, including President of Associazione Emilia-Romagna Sydney-Wollongong and his coordination of the Guglielmo Marconi 2008 centenary exhibition. He also played a key role in the Australia for Emilia-Romagna Earthquake appeal, raising vital funds for earthquake victims.
Bruno will be remembered for his exceptional community service, commitment to cultural and artistic endeavors, and deep love for his family and heritage. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Ferragosto, celebrated every year on August 15, marks the peak of summer in Italy—a time for holidays, relax and escape from the heat. Rooted in ancient Roman traditions, Ferragosto originally began as a period of rest under Emperor Augustus, its name is indeed a happy combination of ferie (holidays) and agosto (August). It also coincides with Assumption Day, a Catholic feast celebrating the Virgin Mary's ascent to heaven.
Today, Italians embrace Ferragosto with colourful religious processions, lively festivals and spectacular fireworks 💥. Cities empty as families head to the coast or countryside and many businesses close for the holiday.

Named in honour of Saint Lawrence, this magical evening is renowned for the Perseid meteor shower that graces the skies between the end of July and mid-August, offering a stunning display of falling stars. People gather in parks, mountains and beaches, away from city lights, to gaze at the sky and make a wish upon these falling stars. 🌠✨
