‘1000HR HYPE’ by Feras Shaheen & David Prakash
Whilst strolling along Bathurst street in the CBD, you might have been greeted by some encouraging faces hyping you up on your way to work; ‘1000HR HYPE’ by Feras Shaheen & David Prakash is a new video installation work at the City of Sydney Creative Studios ‘You’re Okay’ front window.
A homage to Australia’s street dance community, hear David and Feras speak to their form bending representation of this addictive experience which begs the question, “what would happen if we hyped each other just in daily life?”

Everything’s a Vibe! Voice and Vibration Workshop with Fran Middleton.
We're delighted to announce our latest Artist-2-Artist session: ‘Everything’s a Vibe! Voice and Vibration Workshop with Fran Middleton.’
Join multidisciplinary performer and artist Fran Middleton for this embodied voice workshop. This 3-hour session, tailored to performers and multidisciplinary creatives, will focus on physical and energetic awareness. Participants will explore how we can consciously experience and utilise the body's vibrational field to create a palpable presence when performing, making, or creating—and how this can extend into or enhance daily life.
If you're a performer, this workshop can be a great addition to your presence, connection, and energy awareness. Similarly, for anyone engaging in arts practice, activism, wellbeing, or self-care through the arts, being aware of your energy enables you to consciously infuse your intentions and actions with higher frequencies, helping you make change in the world.

Introducing Shammgods, one of the seven artists/groups you’ll find nestled within the hotel walls of the the Ace Hotel Sydney as part of Petite Suite 2024.
Shamgodds is an interdisciplinary performance business venture that offers an ever-growing range of products and services, including live performance, a certified fashion line, lawn and garden care and a petty gripes listening service. A collaboration between performance makers Matthew Prest, Nitin Vengurlekar and Malcolm Whittaker, Shamgodds play with the changing nature of cultural capital by pitting the sacredness and precariousness of the ‘live’ in performance against ways of commodifying it and creating surplus value through ongoing forms of paratextual presence, both online and through performative interventions into everyday life.

MEET THE GUESTS! 🏩
Introducing Annabel Lines, our glamorous Host of Petite Suite 2024.
Annabel Lines has eaten razor blades with seminal French circus Archaos, toted green fire as a glamorously dead mermaid, swung a bunch of hula hoops to crowds of thousands, danced her arse off with notorious potty-mouthed queen of q***r electro-pop Peaches – generally bitten off more than she can chew and made a gourmet meal out of it. From cemeteries and sick beds to vast arenas and dreamy big tops, Annabel has sprinkled her version of hilarious beauty and uncanny vision across the seas. Now a semi-recluse and as weird and wonderful as ever, she returns to the corridors of Ace Hotel.

Late one night not too long ago, Scott Barker hit the back alleys and side streets of Sydney’s CBD with a trolley packed full of tech and GPS coordinates recorded on a fitness tracker.
The result was ‘Apertures’, digital installations and projection mapping that mirrored the art of “forest bathing”—shinrin-yoku a Japanese practice of immersing oneself in a forest.
Shot by Baro Lee, take a stroll through the bustling night with Scott as he tests out his new work developed through the Scene Shift Residency, a program initiative created by The Cad Factory and Brand X.
This project was made possible by The Cad Factory and Brand X, by the NSW Government through Create NSW, and has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its arts funding and advisory body.
