Canteen helps young people (aged 12-25) find the emotional strength they need to deal with cancer. (ABN: 77 052 040 516) We get it. Canteen is the game changer.

Our mission is to be in the corner of every young person when cancer crashes into their world. Just when life should be full of possibilities, cancer crashes into a young person’s world and shatters everything. We help young people cope with cancer in their family. Through Canteen, they learn to explore and deal with their feelings about cancer, connect with other young people in the same boat and

A huge congratulations to our amazing City-Bay participants who not only ran their hearts out on Sunday but also raised an incredible $48k, securing our spot at the top for charity fundraising. 🙌

Enormous thanks to Liz Crowhurst and Pembroke School for celebrating 21 years of running for Canteen, and once again taking out City-Bay's top fundraising team, a place they have held for many years.

Canteen also welcomed Scotch College Adelaide to the team for the first time this year and Immanuel College returned for their second year; both schools contributing to our outstanding result!

We are also incredibly grateful to the sponsors who donated breakfast goods, massages, prizes, BBQs and much more to make this day such a success.

What a huge weekend of courage, compassion, and commitment! 🏃🏻‍♂️💙

In Sunday's Sydney Marathon, Félix's Fighters wrapped up their enormous run with laughter, tears and a huge sense of accomplishment, raising a whopping $31,292 for Canteen in honour of Félix Laubi. With an original goal of $15,000, it's abundantly clear how Félix's spirit continues to touch his community. 💙

Team Captain Lulu led the charge and took on the challenge Félix had left her, to start running. Félix’s Fighters continue Félix’s legacy through rising to a challenge and showing us all their love for him in action - this time through running. 🏃🏻‍♀️

Thank you Félix’s Fighters - your dedication and support is felt across the whole organisation and beyond. 💚

Recently we hosted our U18s NSW Explore program at the beautiful NSW Royal National Park. 🌿💫 Explore is our introductory overnight program for young people with any cancer experience.

We vibed at the Silent disco, made memories and new friendships, and had a blast. 🔥🎉 Highlights included Indigenous earth connection with Wayapa Wuurk, messy games madness, and lots of laughter around the campfire. 🌟🕺

Félix tragically died of cancer in 2024 and is greatly missed by all of us at Canteen. Félix was deeply passionate about raising awareness of the support that's available for young people impacted by cancer through Canteen. Father's Day can be tough if you're navigating cancer—whether you're grieving a loss or supporting your dad in treatment. ❤️ If your dad isn't here to celebrate, you could try honouring his memory in ways that feel right for you: continue his favourite traditions, play his beloved songs, or visit a cherished place.

If dad is undergoing treatment, simple gestures like a heartfelt card, a favourite meal, or a photo together can mean a lot. Remember, there's no right way to feel or celebrate. Be gentle with yourself, and reach out to others who get it on Canteen Connect or a counsellor if you need support. 💚

In just two years Cancer Hub has supported around 4,000 families to navigate the challenges of cancer with more than 19,000 sessions of vital support via Camp Quality, Canteen Australia and Redkite.

Thanks to a generous funding commitment of $9.4 million from the Australian Government, Cancer Hub is now set to double our navigation support, assisting approximately 12,780 more families over the next three years, and strengthen our work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families through dedicated roles and culturally safe practice.

We were delighted to welcome Minister for Health Mark Butler MP to launch the newly expanded Cancer Hub this week.

A big thank you to Georgie Gardner for hosting the event, YARN Member Joel Matysek and our incredible families who generously shared their stories.

Youth Leadership Festival Day 1 🎉

Over the weekend, hundreds of leaders from across the nation and Aotearoa gathered in Sydney for 3 days of fun, connection and learning.

After everyone received their goodie bags with slippers from Pillow Talk Australia, the Canteen X The Oodie blanket and a generous Lagardere voucher, our energetic MCs Katie and Rosie-May kicked off the festival followed by a warm Welcome to Country from Matthew Doyle and an opening Karakia from one of our Canteen Aotearoa rangatahi.

Magic Mike (not a stripper) wowed everyone with his tricks and spoke movingly about mental health and the power of storytelling. 💚
Local groups showcased their exciting projects and that night we enjoyed a formal dinner with Josh’s live band rocking the dance floor! 💃

Thanks to our partner Lagardere AWPL Careers for making it all possible. 🙌

What a fantastic Sunday! 🌞 We had 60 people participate in Sydney’s for Canteen, running, jogging and walking their hearts, raising over $15,000 to support young Aussies impacted by cancer. 🏃🏻‍♂️💚

Shoutout to Rebecca Laubi for raising over $2000, her son Matthias for his incredible time 💨 and all of Félix’s Fighters who were running in memory of our beloved youth ambassador, Félix.

It was great to finish the day with a picnic to celebrate on the sunny sands of Bondi Beach, and to be joined by Abhi Malik who was helping out in birks rather than participating for once! ☺️

Thanks to everyone who made it a day to remember! 🎉💫
