On 23-24 August, Sydney Law School and UTS held Inspiring Legal Research: New Scholarly Horizons and Career Pathways, a workshop for students across Australia and New Zealand to present their thesis.

University of Sydney has moved to first in NSW in the 2024 Academic Ranking of World Universities released today.

The rankings use six indicators such as the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, highly cited researchers and papers published in the prestigious journals.

Applications are now open for the University of Sydney Law School’s team which will compete in the Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition in 2024-2025.

A growing number of complaints against older doctors has prompted the Medical Board of Australia to announce that it’s reviewing how doctors aged 70 or older are regulated.

Yesterday 17 student leaders from the University of Sydney flew to Bangkok, Thailand to attend the University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS).

The USLS unites over 1,500 young leaders from around the world for a 4-day program which aims to equip students with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to unlock their potential and change the world 🌏

The Law School Comfort Fund (LSCF) was established at a meeting in the Law School on 10 July 1940.

Its aim was to keep legal men and students in the Services in touch with the school and the legal professions, but the main object of the fund was to provide reading matter to those whose name was on the roll.

The University Archives preserves the records of the LSCF, including correspondence with former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam and three future University Deputy Chancellors.

Sydney Law School is delighted to host the SMU-Sydney-HKU Law & Sustainability Conference today at the University of Sydney.

Interim Dean and Head of School Rita Shackel gave the opening address and spoke about the importance of sustainability to the region and the Law School.

The conference looks at the Asia Pacific region, its pathway to sustainability and significant challenges it faces.

These include achieving net zero emissions by mid-century, transitioning to cleaner energy in a manner that is just, progressing toward a ‘circular economy’, ensuring that supply chains remain resilient, and safeguarding human rights.

The University of Sydney Law School’s partnership with the Harvard Law School opens a world of possibilities for PhD researchers like Ravi Prakash Vyas, allowing them to research, travel, make connections and build networks.
