From 5 June, Aircalin will be gradually resuming some of its long and medium-haul commercial flights.
This partial resumption has been put in place in collaboration with the State, the Government of New Caledonia and the CCI-NC, and remains conditional on safe access to La Tontouta International Airport.

➤ To date, subject to any change in the situation, and following disruptions to flights between Magenta and Tontouta for weather reasons, the following flights are authorised or awaiting authorisation: https://geo.aircalin.com/en/breaking-news

Beyond these flights, Tontouta airport remains closed until further notice.
Pending a return to a normal situation, this partial resumption takes account of safety constraints for passengers and flight crews, traffic on the RT1, curfew times and airport operations.
Passengers and their baggage will therefore be transported by air from Magenta airport to Tontouta airport, and vice versa for arrivals in New Caledonia.
As a result, timetables will be modified and baggage will be limited to a single item weighing 23 kg per passenger.

Please note :
- Passengers whose flights are confirmed will be notified and contacted by Aircalin staff.
- Shuttle buses will be available from the RAI bus station, the former CHT car park, to take passengers to Magenta airfield. Passengers should not arrive directly at Magenta.
- People living near Tontouta airport or arriving from the north can go directly to Tontouta (no car park, but drop-off possible).

As announced by the High Commission of New Caledonia, La Tontouta international airport remains closed until further notice for commercial flights due to insufficient security conditions for access via RT1.

However, despite the numerous constraints imposed, the Aircalin teams are currently mobilised with the State services, the Government of New Caledonia and the CCI so that secure access conditions to the airport of La Tontouta can be put in place for a gradual resumption of commercial flights soon.

In this downgraded situation, the flight program will be partial and limited pending a return to the normal schedule. Flights will be rescheduled as soon as Aircalin has official approval from the authorities to ensure safe operating conditions.

We understand our customers’ concerns and we assure you that we will do everything we can to ensure that our flights resume as soon as possible.

As New Caledonia is still in a crisis, the High Commission has announced an extension of the closure of Nouméa La Tontouta airport until June 3 at 9 am (local time in New Caledonia).
Therefore, Aircalin is not authorised to operate commercial flights until this time. However, during this period, the company was requisitioned by the State and participated in certain repatriation and air transport operations.

4. If you have several flights or connections before your arrival in New Caledonia, there is no need to go to the departure airport. As Nouméa La Tontouta airport is closed, you will be stuck on your stopover. Be sure to cancel/postpone your flights (see point no. 7)

5. If you are currently stranded abroad, we recommend you find accommodation, follow the news and remain contactable by email and telephone. As the current situation is neither the fault nor the responsibility of the airline, the costs incurred by flight cancellations (hotels, transfers, etc.) are unfortunately not covered.

6. Given the exceptional closure of La Tontouta Airport and its impact on flight operations, Aircalin is applying appropriate commercial measures:
customers in possession of an Aircalin ticket (starting with 063) affected by a cancelled flight during the airport closure period can benefit from the following conditions:
→ Cancellation and refund free of charge
→ Postponement of their trip free of charge for departure before June 30, 2024

For customers not impacted by a cancelled flight, or wishing to postpone their trip beyond June 30, the ticket price conditions remain applicable; costs incurred by flight cancellations (hotels, transfers, etc.) are not covered by the company.
