To give you an idea of how much household problem waste our three original centres have collected since 2014. We'll just leave this here...
That's a combined 2,515 tonnes or 82 humpback whales.

EVENT UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, Wollongong City Council have moved the location of the Chemical CleanOut event from North Dalton Park, Pioneer Road to Fairy Meadow Surf Life Saving Club car park, off Elliots Road, Fairy Meadow.

On this International Button Battery Awareness Day, we ask if you have children at home or your workplace, to make sure all devices with button batteries are secured by a screw.
When storing and recycling batteries, follow the steps below.

Spitting bars and busting moves isn’t usually on the agenda for the Resource Recovery team at Inner West Council but that didn’t stop them producing a Community Recycling Centre (CRC) rap music video.
This light-hearted, fun and informative video communicates the safe disposal and recycling of problem waste, encouraging residents to use this free and easy service.
Your local CRC accepts problem waste items that cannot go in your red bin. Drop off for FREE:

Easter is an egg-cellent time to have a cleanout around the home. If you've got leftover paint, oil, gas bottles, batteries and fluoro globes, collect them up and drop them off for free at your local Community Recycling Centre. Remember to check the opening hours of your CRC before going, as some are closed on public holidays.

This Sunday our clocks turn back by an hour. Daylight savings is a great time to also check your smoke detectors and replace their batteries. Take your old batteries to a Community Recycling Centre or CleanOut event near you for safe disposal.
