Olympic fever hit our survivorship gym! Our EPs hosted an archery competition that was a huge success. 🏹
We had 30 participants, including patients, doctors, nurses, and more. Congratulations to our three incredible medalists, all patients from the gym! 🏆

We're super excited to be a stall holder at this year's Ferragosto event!! As well, we'll be raffling off a fabulous hamper worth over $300!! (our raffle will be drawn at the end of the day). Quick reminder for tomorrow! Join us for a fun and supportive Park Run (or walk🚶🏽‍♀️!) at Rhodes TOMORROW morning 8am. It's a great way to get active, meet new people, and have a great time!

Thanks to the Strathfield Symphony Orchestra for their 6th Benefit concert for the Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre last Saturday night. Great organisation from the Friends of The Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre, and thanks to those who came along on a cold, wet winter night. An excellent time was had by all with all funds raised going to providing free courses and exercise sessions for our cancer survivors at Concord Hospital

This EOFY Help Us To Help Our Cancer Survivors!!

Every dollar you donate will go directly to the Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre and will enable our medical team to continue to provide services to our cancer survivors through the Survivorship Clinic and our Survivorship Gym. We also provide free courses to cancer survivors through our Survivorship Cottage.

It costs $600 to have one cancer survivor go through our 12 week Exercise Program - will help us to meet that cost by donating $20 this EOFY to the Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre?

Join us this Saturday for the Rhodes Parkrun, a free, 5km event that's perfect for all levels. Whether you prefer to walk or run, we'd love to have you join. Bring your friends, family, prams and dogs 🐕!

Date: Next Saturday, June 29th.
Time: 8:00 AM (7:45 AM for the first timer briefing)
Location: Rhodes Parkrun (please check the Parkrun website for the exact location and course details)

Our Benefit Concert Is On Tonight!!!

Tonight's the night the very talented Strathfield Symphony Orchestra presents 'American Plains' in their Benefit Concert for our Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre at the Strathfield Town Hall!!

Doors open at 7.30pm and concert tickets will be available for purchase at the door as well. Remember all proceeds from the Benefit Concert will go directly to the Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre to assist them to continue to provide medical services and well-being courses to our cancer survivors.

Our incredible Benefit Concert Raffle is also drawn tonight, with some amazing prizes to be drawn including: our first prize valued at $1,500 and is a specially commissioned piece of wearable art by local Sydney Artist Suzy Weir. As well Cycleworld Australia Concord have generously donated a Merida 10 Bike valued at $599!!
Other prizes include a 3 month gym membership kindly donated Anytime Fitness Five Dock valued at $450. Strathfield Golf Club have also very generously donated 18 rounds of golf for 4 people with the hire of 2 golf carts also included in this fabulous prize !!

This Saturday night from 7.30pm (at the Strathfield Town Hall), acclaimed Conductor, Sadaharu Muramatsu will lead the Strathfield Symphony Orchestra as they perform in their Benefit Concert. Coco was making friends with the violinists at Strathfield Symphony Orchestra rehearsal. The Benefit Concert for the Survivorship Centre is Saturday June 22nd at 7.30 at Strathfield Town Hall. World Cancer Survivors Day - 2nd June

Today marks World Cancer Survivors Day and we'll take some time today to reflect on the amazing strength and resilience of our cancer survivors. We know it takes more than just strength and resilience to keep our cancer survivors fighting - it takes the love and support of family, friends, carers and a dedicated medical team as well.

As Friends of The Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre, we say our thanks to the incredible team at the Survivorship Centre, which has, over the last ten years, cared for more than a 1000 cancer survivors as they've passed through the Survivorship Centre!!

The Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre's aim is to enable cancer survivors to live their best possible life following a cancer diagnosis and initial treatment. By providing an holistic approach from a team including an Oncologist, Dietician, Exercise Physiologist, Psychologist, Nurse Practitioner as well as the free courses available to cancer survivors in the Survivorship Cottage, our Sydney Cancer Survivorship team are doing everything they can to support our cancer survivors !
