If there ever was an ad that made you want to exercise and be strong, this is it ❤️👏🏻
Exercise Snacking!
If you don't have 30 continuous minutes to commit to exercise, why not "snack" on it? 6 x 5-minute bursts of energetic walking is just as effective, according to this little trial. Love this concept to keep us moving :-)
As much as I love how yoga makes my mind, body and spirit feel, I also know the issues with repetitive movements without some other discipline to balance it out. I highly recommend seeking another form of movement (or a few!) to “mix it up” and keep your practice well-rounded. Explore!
Yoga teachers 'risking serious hip problems' Pushing their bodies to repeat the same yoga positions is leading to a rise in hip problems among teachers, a leading physio warns.
yes.

Been awhile since my last post. Here's one I came across today which, funnily enough, I used to believe I could when I was in my 20s! Shows how gullible we all can be. I know now a "detox" is what your liver and kidneys are for ;) What was a myth you used to believe in?
Happy practicing, everyone! 😉
Bahaha.
Another reason to exercise regularly!
How Exercise Might "Clean" the Alzheimer's Brain Hints at potential treatments for age-related dementia and memory loss
Hello! So I've been busy with studies in the last couple of months, but I still made sure I carved out time to move. Recently took up Animal Flow (animalflow.com) with a certified trainer, and it really showed me that I've so much more to learn about strength and flexibility. Some of the moves may be similar to yoga, but applied in different tempo and transitions. Humbled me to realise I'm not as strong as I thought I was in some areas.
If you're interested just check out a couple of videos on Animal Flow, maybe seek out a trainer for a few sessions, and most of all keep moving!

Weight training, yes! No matter how old you are, resistance / weight training is key to staying on top of your physical health.
100% yes! Never too late to start strength training. Sarcopenia affects balance, gait, and general functional movements which we take for granted at a younger, more mobile age. Do maintain whatever muscle mass and strength you have, or even better, improve it.
If you have a spare hour (or listen to it while driving, commuting, doing chores, etc.) - this podcast is packed full of information about what we (or I at least) have always wondered: is gluten good or bad, what about sugar and fat, and why do we crave them so much? Not suggesting you go on a keto diet, but perhaps just empower your mind with a few more facts to help you decide what your next meal is going to be... And EXERCISE! (towards the end of the podcast)
Which Is Worse — Gluten Or Sugar? Dr. David Perlmutter Explains The Science Plus, a statistic about Alzheimer's that will blow your mind.
To slice or not to slice? I have a thing for going against the knife, and while I’m not recommending that everyone should resist surgery, I am for seeking out non-invasive methods first and have a good understanding of both options before deciding.
Exercise. Yes!

A correlation between exercise and gut bacteria. Worth having a think about and keep moving!

What does empathy look like? Here's how Thich Nhat Hanh describes it.
balancing the energies.
Truth! Do work up your heart rate in a shorter amount of time than aiming for 10,000 steps at an ambling pace. Moderate intensity activity 3 times a week at minimum is recommended.
'Forget walking 10,000 steps a day' Experts say there is a better way to get fit than counting your steps.
Empowerment. We're not disempowering ourselves by helping others, we are empowering them. "My success is from the many people that help me get me where I am today. That my success is my people. They are the success." ❤️
Nothing to do with yoga, but everything to do with LOVE. So proud of you, 'Straya for saying YES 🌈❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Can you guess before starting the video? 😁
Aye! Keep your body movin’... and that’s not just going to the supermarket and back, but regular moderate intensity exercise for about 150 minutes a week... split it up to 30 minutes a day or so, 5 days a week. That’s doable, yes?
