Don’t let your sorting efforts go to waste! In Episode 3 of , we're dropping a quick tip that makes a big impact on resource recovery. ✨

✅ Keep items loose in your recycling bin – no bagging needed!
❌ Avoid soft plastics, fabric, and reusable bags
❌ Bagged items won't be recycled

At Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs), things move fast. Soft plastics and bags jam up sorting machines, and staff don’t have time to unbag and separate everything on the go.

Throwback Thursday! ✨

In April 2024, Georges River Council officially reopened Memorial Square. A part of this upgrade included the conservation of two large mosaics which were originally installed in 2004. 🎨

🧑‍🎨 In 2003, emerging artists Michelle Stewart and Dean St. Baker were selected to develop public art for Memorial Square. They gathered input from the community to ensure the design captured both the spirit of the Hurstville community and the deep significance of Memorial Square.

Council invited Dean St. Baker back 20 years later to carry out conservation work to repair the circular mosaic works ready for the unveiling of the refurbished Memorial Square. 🏛️

You can check out this artwork in Memorial Square, or read more on the public art in Georges River here: https://brnw.ch/21wLZl1 🔗
