NRLW DEBUT: Manilita Takapautolo
2023 Westfields Sports Alumni.
After a sensational year for the Cronulla Sharks in Tarsha Gale, Manilita was elevated from a development deal to a member of the top 24 squad for this season. A debut against Parramatta for the undefeated Sharks in round 2 looks to be the start of a long and illustrious career for 'Lita.' The talented forward was recently selected for the NSW under 19s, after a player of the match performance in the pre-requisite City v Country Origin game earlier this year.
Manilita was our inaugural Open Girls Captain of our Rugby League program in 2023, which culminated in her NSW CHS and Australian Schoolgirls selections. Her Rugby League debut adds to Westfields' ever-growing list of NRL / NRLW players being developed in our programs.
Congratulations Litaโฆ

SPECIAL REPORT: Healthy Study Habits
In today's world, where distractions are abundant and the pressure to excel is high, guiding children to develop healthy study habits is more important than ever. As students aspire to achieve academic success, the cornerstone of that achievement lies not just in their intelligence or drive, but in the study habits they cultivate.
It's essential for students to recognise that good study habits aren't merely about spending extra hours hitting the books. It's more about quality over quantity and having a more balanced approach. Emphasising the value of a routine is essential. Consistent study times establish a sense of structure and discipline, turning studying into a natural part of their daily routine rather than a burdensome task.
Additionally, how students approach their study sessions is equally important. Taking regular breaks is a crucial part of this process in maintaining focus and preventing burnout.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle that includes sufficient sleep, a balanced diet, and consistent physical activity are indispensable elements that will significantly impact your child's ability to study effectively. Fostering these healthy habits is one of the most valuable gifts we can offer children, paving the way for a lifetime of learning and achievement.
This Special Report will help you support your young person as they embark on studying for exams.

Former Westfields Sports High School student and teacher/coach Leah Blayney has departed for her second consecutive Youth World Cup as Head Coach of the Young Matilda's U/20 Womenโs squad.
The World Cup in Columbia sees the Young Matildas matched in Group A with hosts Columbia, Mexico and Cameroon.
Undoubtedly, one of the most talented female coaches in the country Leah led the team to qualification through her teams 3rd place finish at the Asian Cup in Uzbekistan in March. This Bronze medal was the squads best finish since 2006. Coincidentally, that 2006 squad featured a 16 year old Leah Blayney as a talented midfielder.
Leahโs coaching career is assisted by her experience as a player where she played professionally in 3 countries and earnt 16 caps as a Matilda.
When Leah was promoted to Football Federation Australia head coach role she was awarded a Life Membership to the TSP programs for her dedication and service to the Football program. Leah has been a leader in identifying, developing and nurturing football talent.
Last year there were over 30 Westfields Sports girls plying their trade in the A-League Women and also professionally across Europe. Some are now household names in Australian football such as Ellie Carpenter, Kyra Cooney-Cross, Daniela Galic, Courtney Nevin, Jada Whyman to name a few.
Current year 11 student Indiana DOS SANTOS (Sydney FC Womenโs Premiers) is in this Young Matildas side. She joins her sister alumni, Jynaya in the team.
The extra technical, tactical and physical work conducted by Leah with these girls providing the springboard for many of these talented youngsters to play professionally before they had finished their secondary education.
The students, staff and the school wish the best of luck to Leah and the squad for the U/20 World Cup in Columbia over the next month.
