*****IMPORTANT******
Alex Constantinidis has played for Dapto Squash Club for more than 30 years, he currently is on the board of directors at the Dapto Leagues Club, previously Tony Bullman held this position. The position Alex holds is critical for our squash club.

The current board of directors is up for re-election this month. Voting is open between 11am to 6pm at the Dapto Leagues Club on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th of November. YOU HAVE TO VOTE IN PERSON.

We need all of our players to go to Dapto Leagues Club to vote for Alex on one of these dates.

It is critical for the future of our SQUASH club THAT everyone votes for Alex in order to keep him on the board of directors and have a voice for our squash club.

Hey there squashies, this week we've got our annual District Championships on Thursday night, 15 June Dapto Squash Club. We have 3 divisions in this years event and it should be a great fun night of some quality squash with all 3 grades being played on the 1 night. This way we all get to see who takes out the coveted award of Mens & Womens Open Champion. Here's a copy of the round 1 match times and draws for each division.

07/06/2023

Hi there everyone - currently we're smack bang in the middle of Grand Final week. So far it hasn't disappointed. Tues night we were able to watch all the mixed divisions at Dapto which was not only a great atmosphere, but provided some great squash for everyone to watch.

Tonight we get to watch Premier League, Div 3 Mens & Div 4 Mens at Dapto from 6:30pm

Thursday night Dapto will be hosting Div 5 & Div 6 Mens whilst Div 2 Mens will be at Collegians. All matches starting from 6:30pm

So tonight for Premier League we get to watch the Eagles take on the Greyhounds. Someone (aka the Lord) wants me to pass on that the Eagles are coming in as massive underdogs to this match. I CALL BS!!!

The Eagles (minor premiers) managed to hit first place at Round 5 and haven't let go of it since. Whilst the Greyhounds (our lovable dishlickers) firmly maintained 4th position all the way through until Round 13 where they clawed their way into 3rd position by 2 points. The Dishlickers then only had 1 round left as Round 15 was their bye round. Somehow they managed to cling on for dear life to 3rd position and have made it through to the Grand Final as the ultimate underdogs.

Unfortunately for the Eagles Rob (Mr Biceps) Pezzutto is away on his honeymoon overseas, with 100% win rate record at number 3. A big loss for the Eagles going in to tonight's match.

So lets look at our players for tonight's match ups

#1 - Shayne Byrne v Zac Zammit

Shane has defeated Zac twice this comp in 4 and in 5, so this is anyone's win for the taking. Shane has only lost twice this comp, holding a remarkable 82% win record.

Zac has stepped up to the #1 position and has been playing some impressive squash holding a 56% win record and has also managed to increase his ranking by over 70 points.

#2 - Troy Mountford v Tristan Lewis

Troy defeated Tristan in 5 in their only match to date, back in April 2022, but a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then so this is no indication of a guaranteed outcome. Troy holds a 50% win record which is pretty good considering the illness & injuries he's had to battle this comp.

Tristan is undefeated at the #2 position this comp and holds a 70% win rate. Just quietly, whenever we've had blood related injuries on the court Tristan seems to have been playing - is this match going to be another blood sport match? Look out Troy!

#3 - Matt Delaney v Jen Condie

Matt lost in 4 to Jen this comp in their only match up so he certainly will be hungry to level the results here. Matt sitting at a win rate of 25%, however don't let these numbers fool you. Watching Matt play the last few weeks he has certainly been producing some squash of notable quality.

Jen undefeated at #3 position this comp holds an overall 86% win rate. Let's see what lesson our only lady of the Premier League can teach the boys tonight!

Worth mentioning Troy (the Lord) will be looking for his team to win the comp tonight making in his record breaking 36th year of Premier League.

Pundits have Greyhounds as red hot specials. But don't underestimate a clipped eagle. As we all know finals are a different game and anything can happen in a Grand Final.
Good luck to everyone playing this week

Hi everyone - a while back we had a refereeing seminar and completed the Level 0 qualification on the WSO website. Today I went through and completed the Level 1 qualification. I have to say it was really thorough and I learnt plenty. I can only encourage as many of you who are interested to take the time and do the same. I found it really interesting.

Sorry about the inconsistency with the write-up guys, I’ve just been very busy lately and struggling to find time to scratch myself. Anyway here’s the low down on what’s on at Dapto Squash for Round 9 which is our split round.

Monday night saw Div 6 Mens where Dapto 12 v Dapto 11 on court 4 & Div 3 Mixed where Dapto 10 v Dapto 11. Tonight's matches at Dapto feature our Div 1 Mixed teams where we’ll see Dapto 5 v Dapto 3 on Court 1, Dapto 2 v Gerringong 1 on Court 3, Dapto 4 v Dapto 1 livestreamed from Court 4 and Div 2 Mixed has Dapto 8 v Dapto 6 on Court 2.

Tomorrow night our Wednesday Premier League will be showcasing Raptors v Eagles on Court 4 and Superoos v Greyhounds on Court 1. On Court 3 we will also be hosting Div 4 Mens where Dapto 6 v Lakeside 1. The Bulls are out this week with the bye.

I’m pleased to report the last few suppers have been getting better and better each week and the guys are playing some great squash which is a pleasure to watch.

Here's the line ups for Premier League this week:

Court 4 – Raptors v Eagles
1 – Aaron Graham v Shane Byrne
2 – Tom Blake v Troy Mountford
3 – Darren Ireland v Rob Pezzutto

Court 2 – Greyhounds v Superoos
1 – Zac Zammit v Dane Sephton
2 – Jen Condie v Ray Payne
3 – Ian Gates v Will Croker

Whilst I have been a bit light on with my write ups, I haven’t been short in getting some weekly happy snaps for you. So here’s a dump of the action from the last few rounds, capped off with my personal favourite – our of social media approval officer (AKA – Kovu, my cat who climbs all over the keyboard whenever I try to do this 🤣).

Photos from Dapto Squash Page's post 07/03/2023

After me being AWOL with my write ups for 2 weeks I now find we are here at Round 5 which will complete our first round of this comp.

This week's Tuesday matches at Dapto feature our Div 1 Mixed teams where we’ll see Dapto 2 v Dapto 3 on Court 4, Dapto 4 v Gerringong 1 on Court 1, Dapto 5 v Dapto 1 on Court 3, and Div 2 Mixed sees Dapto 6 v Gerringong 2 on Court 2.

Tomorrow night our Wednesday Premier League will be showcasing Superoos v Eagles on Court 4 and Raptors v Bulls on Court 2. Whilst the Greyhounds on 53 points are currently at the top of the leaderboard have the bye this week.

The Superoos need to put their big boy boxing gloves on as they are currently firmly set at the tail end of the leaderboard on 7 points. They are desperate for their first win of the season on Wednesday night against the Eagles. The Eagles however, are looking good in 2nd place on the leaderboard on 45 points . The Eagles only have a 30% win rate so there’s definitely a self-redemption opportunity here for the Superoos.

Wednesday on Court 2 we’ll watch the Raptors who are currently 3rd on the leaderboard take on the Bulls who trail the Raptors by only 7 points. This promises to be a great match tonight which I think will come down to only 1 or 2 games separating the 2 teams as they both have equally strong line ups.

Let’s see if the Superoos can bound to the top of the supper leaderboard tonight. Each week supper has been slowly improving.

Here's the line ups for Premier League this week:

Court 4 – Superoos v Eagles
1 – Zac Zammit v Shane Byrne
2 – Ray Payne v Rob Pezzutto
3 – Will Croker v Jen Condie

Court 2 – Raptors v Bulls
1 – Aaron Graham v Michael Bolton
2 – Tom Blake v Peter Bullman
3 – Darren Ireland v Mark Xuereb

Great fun afternoon with our juniors today for our last Friday. Smiles all round and we finished off with King of the Court. We will be moving our Juniors to Wednesday afternoons starting in a couple of weeks. If this is something you think you could contribute to 1 time a month then just let us know. We'd really appreciate the support and more importantly so would our juniors. 😊

So here’s a short & sweet little run down on what’s on at Dapto tonight with our Premier League. Court 2 will be hosting the Greyhounds v Bulls and Court 4 will be live streaming Superoos v Raptors. The other match at Dapto tonight will be on Court 1 where we will watch Div 4 Mens, Dapto 6 v Collegians 7.

Hopefully the Greyhounds can raise the bar on the supper from last week’s efforts. Here's the line ups for Premier League:

Court 4 – Superoos v Raptors
1 – Dane Sephton v Aaron Graham
2 – Ray Payne v Tom Blake
3 – Garry Piggott v Darren Ireland

Court 2 – Greyhounds v Bulls
1 – Zac Zammitt v Michael Bolton
2 – Jen Condie v Ryan Ashcroft
3 – Ian Gates v Peter Bullman

Photos from Dapto Squash Page's post 12/02/2023

This week saw the start of our Autumn 2023 comp with plenty of action happening around our local clubs. Here’s a brief run down on some of the action at Dapto Squash Club. Our live streaming only happened on Tuesday & Wednesday this week as Court 4 was out of action on Thursday night after our massive downpour.

Tuesday we watched Div 1 Mixed where Dapto 5 took on Dapto 4. Match-ups were Mark Xuereb v Mitchell Munecas (3-0), Ryan Schatz v Peter Chang (3-1), David Williams v Craig Bryan (1-3) and Wayne Henderson v Ann Burns (1-3). In a very close match Dapto 5 squeezed out a win by 1 game (interestingly points were Dapto 5 189pts & Dapto 4 201pts)!

Wednesday night we watched Premier League play where we saw the Eagles take on the Greyhounds. Match-ups were Shane Byrne v Tristan Lewis (3-1), Troy Mountford v Jen Condie (3-0) and Rob Pezzutto v Ian Gates (3-1). The Eagles soared off with a convincing win picking up all 3 matches. Our other Premier League match where Bulls took on the Superoos had the following match-ups, Michael Bolton v Dane Sephton (3-2), Ryan Ashcroft v Raymond Payne (3-0) and Mark Xuereb v Will Croker (3-1). The Bulls managed to charge off with a win picking up all 3 matches.

However, that’s where the winning ended for the Bulls, let’s just say when it comes to supper the only way is up from here. Huge appreciation from Premier League goes out to Belinda Xuereb for rocking up with her amazing spinach cob loaf!

Thursday night we should have been live streaming Div 3 Mens where Dapto 4 took on Collegians 4, however we had to give court 4 the chance to dry out. Results from this match were Wally Guerreiro v Rick Miccoli (3-0), Alex Howley v James Hoey (1-3), Ruan Pieters v Paul Green (3-2) and Isaac Wilson v Dave Carlile (3-0).

We also want to send out a huge thank you to everyone that helped on Thursday at Dapto courts. Things were initially looking quite dire however turned out ok with everyone’s help. THANKYOU GUYS!

That’s it for Round 1. Hopefully we’ll have live streaming every night next week for your enjoyment.

Photos from Dapto Squash Page's post 08/02/2023

Ok boys and girls . . . . I hope you’re all ready. Strap yourselves in for what I’m sure promises to be another epic Squash Illawarra Competition!

Dapto has a full house of squash for your enjoyment tonight, so why not come on down to watch some great games. On court 1 we’ll watch Div 5 Mens where Dapto 9 will take on Dapto 10 and on court 3 we’ll watch Div 6 Mens where Pt Kembla 1 will take on Dapto 11.

Again, tonight we are live streaming from Dapto Squash with all the Premier League action we can gather. Court 4 is the only court being live streamed at the moment. So this week’s live streamed match will see the Eagles face off against the Greyhounds. Will the Eagles razor sharp talons rip the Greyhounds to shreds or will the Greyhounds redeem themselves from last comp and devour the Eagles! Our other Premier League match is nothing short of a boxing match where we will see the raging Bulls take on the powerful Superoos. What standard are the Bulls going to set for supper this comp being the first one out of the chute for supper!

Here's our line ups for Premier League:

Court 4 – Eagles v Greyhounds
1 – Shane Byrne v Tristan Lewis
2 – Troy Mountford v Jen Condie
3 – Rob Pezzutto v Ian Gates

Court 2 – Bulls v Superoos
1 – Michael Bolton v Dane Sephton
2 – Ryan Ashcroft v Ray Payne
3 – Mark Xuereb v Will Croker
