🏉 SEMI FINALS RESULTS 🏉

All four teams took to the road on Saturday traveling to a windy Myimbarr Oval. With a chance to go straight through to the grand finals for the reserve grade sides and the possibility for seasons to be over for our premier division sides, the doggies came to the games hungry.

The reserve women started the day with a win sending them straight through to the grand final. This is the first time our reserve grade women has made a grand final and we are very proud of them!

The reserve grade men went down to a well oiled Figtree. However their season lives on as they play Bay and Basin in the preliminary this Saturday.

The premier division women sadly fell short against a red hot Bomaderry outfit seeing an end to their terrific season.

We finished the day with a win from the premier division men to keep their season alive.

A HERSTORY making yet bittersweet day out for the doggies! Come down to Artie Smith Oval this Saturday to cheer the men on!

🐶 CLUB MILESTONE 🐶

Eliza Price - 50 Club Games

It brings me great pleasure to announce the 50-game milestone for our Eliza Price (affectionately known as Wiza Pwice). Wiza was a part of the inaugural Womens Division 1 team back in 2019 under the helm of Pete Deards, where we got to see her play her first ever games of AFL. Wiza, like many of the women at the club, came from a netball background and joined footy ‘because it seemed fun’ and if there is one human at the club that has the most fun playing footy, it’s our girl Wiza. She joined us as a quiet, blonde, highly competitive operator who loved a footy function & a boogie (did you know she is a DJ). Wiza’s footy speaks for itself and just like a Boileroorm DJ set, Wiza began her footy career with some low confidence and low energy beats from her beginnings as a first-time player & her progression through the reserves. Building herself up to an impressive, high energy, big drops performer, stamping herself in the headliners list playing every game in our premier division this season. She not only earnt her top-level spot but stood up to the challenge each week and on her 50th game, gets to run out in her first prems finals game.

A wonderful teammate and friend, Wiza is exactly who you want to run out with each week, a committed worker on & off the field. I have had the pleasure of playing with & coaching Wiza over her 50 games for the club and I have fond memories of playing together, rocketing her a handball & her clearing through traffic to kick it down to for a winning goal in the dying seconds! However, I am especially proud to be able to coach her and see her development firsthand, seeing her seize the opportunity to take her footy wherever she wants & I honestly can’t wait to see her continue to develop as a player & a beautiful human. Big things ahead for this girl, she is only just getting started.

Our Division One sides are playing in Qualifying Finals with a win sending them straight through to the Grand Final. Both Premier Division sides are playing in do or die Elimination Finals. Tomorrow at our Doggies Big Day Out at Keira Oval we will be running a fundraiser to raise funds for . They are a local charity who assist women who may be affected by domestic violence, isolation, marginalisation, and general disadvantages in the Illawarra community. Tickets will be $5 each or three for $10 and can be purchased at the canteen tomorrow.

🏉 ROUND 12 REMATCH 🏉

Due to a wet weather washout in round 12, the reserve grade women have a rescheduled game tomorrow whilst the rest of the club have a general for the representative round. They will take on top of the table at 9:20AM at Kully Bay Oval. So if you’re free this weekend come down and support the ladies!

We also have a group of men and women travelling to Newcastle for the representative round against Hunter Central Coast tomorrow. Games kick off at 11AM and 2:30PM respectively at Pasterfield Sporting Complex. We are extremely proud of those selected to play for . ❤️🤍💙

The dogs got back on the park this past weekend after a week off due to wet weather. The premier division men and reserve grade women had dominant games whilst the reserve grade men and premier division women fell short. With the representative games being held this weekend there is a general bye. However our reserve grade women have a makeup game against top of the table Lions at Kully Bay.

🌧️ Ladies Day Cancellation 🌧️

Unfortunately, based on rainfall to date and anticipated weather, it is unlikely we will have a home game at Keira this weekend.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We wanted to make the decision as early as possible to minimise inconvenience for attendees, especially ladies traveling to visit for the occasion!

We are looking to postpone the event and will keep everyone up to date as we reschedule. Current ticket holders will be able to use their tickets for the future event, or we are also happy to issue refunds directly. Please message us for more details.

We had some tight games in the men’s this weekend. The reserves were eventual winners whilst the premier division men fell short. The women had a dominant display of skills.
