A fantastic oppurtunity for parents, team coaches and team managers to learn how to e-score our games this season. All of our home games will need to be e-scored this season. We are proud to report that we will be supplying tablet computers to each team to score matches this season. Cricket NSW are providing free webinars to train people in how to score junior cricket online. We will have to act quickly. Webinars are available starting this evening and running through to 17/10/24. Click the link to see the times for Webinar schedule. Choose one that works for you and learn how to assist your childs team in scoring the games this season. The more people that are trained, the more we can share this around. Please let us know privately that you have completed a webinar for a little thank you from the club!! https://www.cricketnsw.com.au/play-hq/e-scoring

** Playing Uniforms Update **
A fantastic turn out last night with approximately half of our registered players being fitted out and ordering their name and number for their playing shirts! It was great to see how excited everyone was to be getting back into cricket mode. We have 2 remaining sessions for sizing this weekend.
Option 2: Reed Park Clubhouse this Saturday 12pm till 1.30pm
Option 3: Reed Park Clubhouse this Sunday 8.30am till 10am.
Hoping our remaining registered players can drop in and try on the kits and get their orders in. We won’t be closing registrations just yet, however, players who register AFTER 5pm Thursday 22nd August will not be able to have their name and number on their playing strip this season.
A quick update on upcoming events as our season draws closer!
Firstly, all registered players are invited to get fitted for new playing uniforms this season, and record their playing number. You will be able to view our awesome new playing strip when you get sized up. Details will be sent out available times and locations starting this Thursday evening and over the weekend. Hopefully everyone can find a time that suits.
Next, we have a proposed Preseason challenge against Albion Park Cricket Club. We are hoping to have each of our age teams play against their counterparts from APCC Eagles on this day. Final plans are not locked in, but at this stage, the date is scheduled between the clubs. More info to came as the planning continues.
Finally, our Preseason trip to NSW Cricket Central at Homebush. We are really excited for this day out. All registered payers U13-U17 are invited. Travel will be by coach, with training and other activities planned at this brilliant facility. Expect a full day out with this one. Again, more specific information will be released soon.
For now, save the dates! Go the Canaries!
**Girls Cricket Alert**
Dapto Cricket Club is proud to invite girls to play in Girls Cricket competitions this summer. We have Under 13’s and U15’s teams for Wednesday afternoon competitions. Girls competitions have been super successful over the last couple of seasons in the Illawarra, and it’s time that Dapto got involved! These are fun competitions, with a focus on gaining skills and confidence in cricket while meeting new friends!
If that doesn’t suit, girls can play mixed cricket on Saturday mornings. We would love to have specific girls teams playing for Dapto Cricket Club! Or if girls are comfortable they can join in and mix it with the boys!
Dapto Cricket Club has secured funds to subsidise registration fees for female players in Junior Cricket. There has never been a better time to get girls into Cricket, Australia’s favourite team summer sport!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about girls cricket and Dapto Cricket Club!

Great to see some of our U13's boys have a big win in their Semi-Final against Corrimal yesterday in the 12.1's Rugby League! Well done to Riley Brown, Lachlan Brown, Noah Drinkwater, Blake Knight and Lachlan Tate on extending their footy season! Uncomfirmed rumours coming from the pre-game chat is that the boys were desperate to avoid an early start to their gruelling cricket pre season! All jokes aside, its great to see them doing well in their winter codes! Go the Canaries! Dapto Junior Rugby League Football Club

Last night saw us celebrate the season that was at Dapto Leagues Club.
A great turnout saw some deserved award winners across all 4 grades.
Thanks to our Life Members who attended, and thanks to all our sponsors.
Hope to see you all again next season!
Massive congratulations to our own Michael Amadio on his selection in the U19 NSW Country squad. Best of luck Mick!
Well done Brad. Great effort this season!
Illawarra 4th Grade Batting
An absolute run fest in this grade with plenty of tons & runs & lots of players acchieving the minimum of 300 runs.
Brad Tate (Dapto) topped both the aggregate & average, but a special mention to Tiger Lucy Western who had a stellar season with the bat against the boys.
Today saw us celebrate the season that was at DJCC.
Thanks to all the coaches, players, parents/carers, helpers and all of the committee who helped make the season what it was. Also, all of our sponsors. Resolution Rigging Services, Evolution Building Group Dapto Leagues Club Dapto Junior Rugby League Football Club Maloney's Fencing, Cassar's Family Meats Jimani Trophies & Engraving
Congratulations to all the award winners, and keep those skills up over the off season.
Congratulations Hannah!
Good Luck to our U15 Girls.
Ben Maloney snagged a 5 fa yesterday afternoon in 4th grades win over NDs at Reed North.
5/21, proving he is the better Maloney, pipping his dad Nic who took 4/17.
Well done Gary!
Congratulations to Joel Hawksworth, who played his 250th game yesterday Vs Corrimal.
Unfortunately the result didn't go in our favour, even after a hard morning on the super sopper that allowed us to get the game on.
Not long now until you catch up to Hawksworth Snr!
This week's player profile is our U13As coach, Brad Tate.
Brad has taken the reins in a tough exercise for our youngsters this season, which seen them get their first win last weekend, but, as with all tough challenges, hopefully next season will see improved results.
A keen batsman, Brad has had a bit of success this season in 4s (could've been better, but less said about that, the better)
Thanks for your efforts this season Brad, and try and catch up on those runs you were robbed of in the last couple of rounds!
Birthplace: Wollongong
Nicknames: Tatey, Tazzler
Occupation: Deputy Principal
Previous clubs: The Rail CC, Wollongong CC, Kiama CC
Age started playing: Backyard cricket with Dad from as early as I can remember! But formally U11’s with The Rail.
Role in team: Batting Allrounder, Chief of Mental Disintegration
Career Highlights: Hard to say, but my first ton was pretty exciting for me, in U16’s (154*). Modern formats make it hard for kids to get that sort of score in junior club cricket these days.
Favorite Sportsperson: Michael Jordan, just the ultimate competitor.
Why the Canaries? Local team, local people, local facilities!
What am I looking to achieve with the Canaries this season? Just having fun with good teammates, and enjoying playing the game after a long absence. Looking forward to remaining fit and playing some games of cricket with my own cricketing kids as they become old enough to play grade cricket! Would be nice to stay away from any negative CI match reports too lol.
Good luck to Logan Jensen who is taking part in the NSW CHS finals tomorrow in Maitland.
Good luck to the 4 local representatives in the NSW CHS teams that will contest the final tomorrow.
