Sue has joined the team as our new RTO manager with IRT Academy. Her background is in secondary education, taking on multiple roles in leadership and management and consultancy within the education sector. Sue brings a wealth of expertise having worked in the vocational education space for 25 years delivering hospitality and business qualifications plus, is a qualified careers advisor.
Things we know about Sue:
-Happiness is....cuddling her pet speagle, Hudson 🐾
-Greatest achievement is raising two children, Ellen (25) and Matthew (22) who both work in the health sector.
-Loves starting conversation with anybody and making them feel comfortable.

In honour of International Nurses Day, we’re sharing the journeys of some of our wonderful IRT nurses. This is Victoria’s story:
“With only just recently beginning my nursing career, it has been so exciting that I have been able to achieve my childhood dream. How fortunate for me that I was able to begin my nursing career in the New Graduate program with IRT Macarthur. The New Graduate program provided me with support and guidance that has helped me become the confident nurse I am today. I enjoy working in partnership with my team and I am so thankful for my supportive and passionate care manager and for her ongoing support. Meet Malin!

Malin is our wonderful Learning & Development Manager here at IRT Academy.

Malin has been with IRT now for 5 years and her role is to manage the L&D functions, identifying learning needs and developing programs to meet our organisation's ever changing requirements. She manages the design, delivery, implementation and scheduling of our RTO courses and also manages our team of amazing Trainers, supports our L&D team whilst working hard to continuously improve our course offerings and the student experience.
In 2018 Malin was an integral part of IRT's Innovation Project on Lifelong Learning. With a Graduate Diploma in Adult and Vocational Education, a Diploma of Leadership and Management, her TAE40110, a Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety and a Master of Science, Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics Malin is a highly experienced and knowledgeable member of the team.

When she's not working Malin loves to spend time with her Husband and two daughters, going for long walks and catching up with friends.

Something you may not know about Malin is that she grew up in a small village in the north of Sweden about 150 kms south of the Arctic Circle where the sun didn't come up in the Winter and didn't set in the Summer!

There are days when human kindness shines (like today's sunshine). ☀️

One of our team visited a new client last week. This older woman's home had been vandalised, her handbag, phone and ID stolen several weeks ago. She was isolated and afraid with no formal or informal supports.

Near the end of a long day of waiting to reactivate her bank card, reissue her ID and connect with her doctor we asked her if she was hungry. She replied 'yes' and that she would love some 'fish'. But with only $5 to her name, our support worker offered to shout her the difference to buy the $11 meal.

The take-away shop worker overheard the conversation and gave this woman the meal for $5, restoring her dignity. It was generous and well received with a huge grin.

A little bit of kindness goes a long way. 🧡🧡🧡
