I've always had a appreciation for things that age well; a garden bench with flaking paint, oxidised copper down pipes, scars... That's why when I first fell in love with my at-the-time, soon-to-be girlfriend, I didn't just jump in head first. No, I did my due diligence and got to know her mother and grandmother first. Realising the future still had fantastic cheek bones, I decided to go all in and we have been together ever since (with Lizzy that is, not Lesley or Connie).
Now I don't profess to know anything about fashion, but I do know a silver fox when I see one. The uniform of field and factory, French workwear. Time is French workwear's loyal friend. In fact, a hard life is its best friend. The more days spent toiling in the lavender fields of Provence, or on the railways of Lyon, or your art studio under the house, the better.
In light of this, I've decided to start peddling them. Here I'll be selling gems I've sourced from Brochants all over France. Overalls, boiler suits, jackets and pants. Some will be dead stock. Most, worn by someone who is now dead. Each garment unisex, hot and hardworking. All of them of them made to last and garenteed to look better with age. We clearly aren't doing anything new here. People have been selling this stuff for decades. I just want to keep curating and selling the beautiful things I find in this world.

An ode to Black Glass

Oh black glass you sultry Jezebel. Staring into your slab of dark nothingness and everythingness. Is this what it feels like to look into a black hole? Or be choked by an octopus once thought to be extinct? Or to eat an entire truffle?

The first time I saw one of these lamps, I was in a restaurant in Marseille two months ago. In the corner of the room emitting the warmest light was what I was sure was a tower erected from sheets of lasagna, boiled, draped then dried again. I was completely floored. I had never seen anything like it. After feverishly trying to explain this ‘pasta lamp’ to anyone who would listen, a fellow dealer exclaimed “Ahh Georgia Jacob” since then it had been my mission to hunt down and buy every one of these in existence. The shade is actually made from linen dipped in resin. The base is a ceramic fruit bowl with the paint pleasantly well faded. It’s a statement, it’s delicate, it’s gaudy, it’s a masterpiece and it could be yours.

Macrob bedsides painted in synthetic cricket pitch green. I can smell the sweaty shin pads from here. Delightful.
Base piece had been kicked out on one so we replaced the wood and painted them both. Tops and drawers have been sanded and refinished. Some damage is still present on the lower side panels.

Become a black market cigar importer with this 1970’s leather lounge set. Maker unknown but in the style of Martin Stoll. IDs welcomed. Leather has been cleaned and conditioned. Wood frame has been sanded and refinished. Extremely comfortable. Coffee table was originally a discarded two seater frame. Converted with a new glass top.

1970’s dressing table commissioned by the late Captain Hook for his personal quarters upon The Jolly Roger. Made to his exacting specifications it features display space to the left and right of the mirror for is collection of bespoke hooks. Mirrored Handles that can be opened with hand or hook and plenty of draw space for stockings and cotton Bloomers. Part of a larger set. DM for a preview of the other pieces.

Make your next white rhino hunting expedition a pleasant one with these two 1960’s Michael Hirst Safari Chairs.

Based on the Indian Roorkhee chairs used by British military officers. The chair features a no glue frame design that tightens when the chair is sat on.

Rosewood frames have been stripped and polished. The leather has been cleaned and conditioned with a small repair.

I’m a napper. I always have been and I’ve nailed it down to a fine art. From my firsthand in-depth research, I’ve come to the following findings.
Afternoon Naps on a night bed last for 50 - 93mins, induce a groggy period of unproductive confusion for 20mins and eventually increase afternoon productivity by 20%. Whereas an arvo nap on a daybed lasts for 15 to 25mins, does not induce a groggy unproductive confusion and will increase afternoon productivity by 30% to 40%.

There is a myth that in 214 BC Archimedes directed his Troops to polish their copper and Bronze shields to reflect the sun’s rays onto the ships of the invading Roman fleet. Thus setting the ships alight and saving Greece.

There is another myth that in 1976 yia-yia Kotoros won the community pie baking contest employing a similar method. Using her copper topped coffee table she reflected hot rays of sunlight from her 8th story apartment onto her competitor’s pie’s warming on window sills. Rendering the pastry burned and the filling dry.

A guy and a girl matched on bumble and arranged to meet for a drink. The date is going well and sparks are flying. So much so, that she invites him back to her place. They proceed to partake in sexual relations and both seem to be rather enjoying themselves.
