🦴Foam Roller for Bone Health🦴
Bone health is complex. But exercising for better bones doesn’t have to be! 🙌
As a licensed Buff Bones instructor, Maria from M Pilates and Movement likes to use the foam roller, hand weights, bands, balls to teach the Buff Bones method for bone and join health.
Functional movements like the hinge, squat, lunge, push, pull & balance are some of things we like to teach you to protect your bones. A combination of weight bearing exercises that relate to so much of what we do in daily life!
And if you want to strength train & add heavy weights 🏋️, you’ll need to master these movements first to avoid injuries!

~ Pilates Lateral Breathing ~
Lateral breathing is one of the first things you will be taught when you begin Pilates. This is because it has many benefits for you, in your practice and in everyday life.
Lateral breathing is practised by inhaling through the nose and directing the breath to the back and side of the rib cage.
Then exhaling through the mouth to slowly bring the ribs to glide back back together. Activating deepest abdominal muscles - these include the diaphragm, pelvic floor, transverse abdominis, and multifidus. These muscles work together to provide support for your entire body.
Think of a girdle that wraps around the middle of the body, front, sides and back.
In the video, you can see my hand’s moving sideways and away from one another. You can also see how the fabric stretches as I inhale and creases as I exhale.

Hello! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. I’m happy to announce that I’m back!! And I’m so happy to be here with you all again 🤗
I’ve been teaching Pilates in Wollongong for just over 2 years now.
Although I miss my studio & clients in Goulburn, I am loving it here & finally feel like I’ve found my feet again.
I’m excited to be teaching a Pilates and Movement Mat class at the local primary school every Monday at 5.30pm starting the 6th February.
The class will be held in the hall at Lindsay Park Primary School, Thames St, Figtree.
The hall is a wonderful space for a mat based class, with lots of space, fans & the garage door can be fully open to let the cool breeze in on those warm summer nights. There’s also plenty of parking & toilets available on site.
The class is for EVERY BODY! No matter what your fitness level. If you haven’t moved for a while & want to ease back into it, this is for you! As long as you can get down & up off the floor unassisted, then YOU can do this class!
Classes go for 50mins to an hour. Cost: $22 per class. EFT available & cash accepted
Just bring yourself, your mat, a towel to support under your head or knees, & a water bottle. Wear something comfy to move in.
