Today was bittersweet. We had 10 wonderful weeks of pony club at Come Back Ranch Animal Sanctuary. Today was our last day of our program until next summer. The kids got to ride a horse and play basketball on horseback, do many art projects and learn about how horses think. They learned the anatomy of a horse and much much more. They made lots of new friends and hopefully they will come back with their parents to Volunteer. We had a great group of kids. Thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers for making this possible. 🐴♥️

This young horse keeps amazing me.
Second day. Now Mahalo learned to line up on the off side. A++
Today was the second day of working on lining up to the mounting block or should I say the upside down water trough. whatever works Mahalo did an amazing job remembering what he learned yesterday. What a smart boy!
Mahalo‘s first time with stirrups hanging down and bumping him. He did not buck. He did not mind that something was on his back. I think he was showing off for his girlfriend that was watching him intently. I just love working with him. He has such a great disposition. I think all the steps that we’ve taken so far are definitely paying off. Yeah Maha!o! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Mahalo has made his mom and dad very proud today. I am also very proud of him.
First time lunging Mahalo with a ba****ck pad cinched up. No bucking, no fussing and all the groundwork that we have done to prepare him has paid off. Another successful day!
Slow and steady. Mahalo is making great progress. I love to see him think about things and not react.
Just a little challenging, but Mahalo gave it a good try. He is patient and smart. I love teaching him new things.
Today I worked on teaching Mahalo to line up at the mounting block. I was able to lunge him with a very light saddle and preparing Mahalo for a bright future. Mahalo was amazing and very trusting. Success!! 👏🐴♥️👏

If you are part of Danny’s family or were close with Danny Jay Beecroft please come help. If you just want to help, please come help. We will be serving lunch and dedicating this Hay barn to Danny’s memory.
Danny was part of our Veterans Program for a short time and helped take care of our animals. Danny was a special part of our life. He was family to us. Danny Jay Beecroft wanted to help us build this Haybarn. It was important to him. We miss Danny and we would like to take the time to share stories and keep his memory alive. 🙏💜
