When our kids enjoy the process, it makes learning that much easier 🧡💛
A Friday fun fact for you! ⭐️
Isn’t language development incredible?! 🧠💡
✨ Always remember to get on your child’s level during interactions! We may often overlook this, but it matters!
👁️ It allows our kids to see our face and mouth clearly when we model sounds and words.
🔄 It makes it easier for them to shift their attention to us and pick up on our facial expressions and other non-verbal cues.
👶 It helps us see things from their perspective, supporting better interaction!
✨📣Exciting News! PCS is thrilled to launch our Infant Stimulation Workshop – a fun and interactive way to support your baby’s growth and development! 👶✨

Is your child saying words like this? 🤔
It’s pretty common for kids to drop the /s/ sound from a cluster of consonants, and it’s a typical error up to about 4-5 years old. You can help them out by emphasising the /s/ sound when you say these words correctly. 🌟
If you’re concerned that your child is producing sounds this way, we suggest you consult with a speech and language pathologist! When looking at speech sound errors, we do so for all error patterns, not just this one. An assessment will determine if your child will benefit from therapy to address concerns with their sounds. ✅
Wishing you a quack-tasting week, from PCS & this lil champ! 🦆🐥🐣
In early years speech therapy focusing on language development, our focus is usually on functional language. ⭐️
Academic language and the ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ can wait - they’ll come in time! What matters most now is empowering our kids with language that truly makes a difference in their daily lives. 🤩
Just a couple of smiles ☺️
How many words does your child have? 🤔
We often see parents either over or underestimate the amount of words their child produces. This can be a tricky question to respond to, but this should help as a guide! ✅
‼️🔔Remember: something your child produces counts as a word if they are producing it independently, intentionally and consistently. That is, your child must be able to produce that word on their own (without hearing it first); mean it (so use it in the right context to communicate something) and use it often (not just in isolated instances).
My sweet Ari, hard at work 💕
She’s been receiving services with PCS since 2021 and watching her progress has been such a joy! As a clinician, it’s just so heartwarming seeing our kids soar over the years, truly 💖

▶️ Fronting is a phonological process that usually fades away in typical speech sound development by about 3.5 years.
▶️ If you’ve noticed your child is fronting beyond this age, consider consulting with a speech-language pathologist. ✅👍
