In this presentation, you will learn how to effectively judge a Toastmasters speech contest, review the ballots for the International and Evaluation speech contests, learn how judging a contest speech is different than evaluating a speech, and have your questions answered.

The Bowmanville Toastmasters Club received its charter on November 1st, 1987, and celebrated it’s 35th charter anniversary on November 15th this year with many dignitaries in attendance.
Toastmasters and guests came from near and far to share in our joy. Special guests included the Hon. Mayor of Municipality of Clarington Adrian Foster and Toastmasters District 123 officials.

Today after 35 years we continue to hold our flag high being one of the vibrant clubs in this community and the Toastmasters District 123.

Like any great business or company that has withstood the test of time, they have had to ride the waves of uncertainty. The last 2 years were tough on everyone. Through the cooperation and will of its club members, Bowmanville Toastmasters rode those waves and came out stronger on the other side. If we can do that, there are no limits to the potential of the club. While maintaining Bowmanville Toastmasters' historic roots, we are open to what the future holds to have our experience be the best of what Toastmasters has to offer.

So, what do we do here at Toastmasters? We write speeches and develop our leadership and communication skills. If you look a little deeper, Toastmasters does more than this. Toastmasters enables us to work on some fundamentals of being human- creativity, writing, speaking and communicating.

As parents, they say that the best thing we can do for our children is to set an example. We believe most parents would agree that we all want the next generation to be better equipped to handle the world than we were.

We want to build formidable human beings, who can look at the world, formulate a thought, and articulate it with such grace and poise that it has the world on the edge of its seats.

Our theme for the 35th Charter celebration was Posterity, a word encompassing all future generations and their descendants.
At toastmasters, we set the stage for future generations to make a difference through speechcraft.
