When words are not enough choose music, a walk in nature , hugging your pet or seeing and art therapist. Your heart needs nurturing .
We can find beauty wherever we go . Even dandelions have their charm after the bloom.
Yes , we can !
There are many benefits to therapy. If you long to feel different a therapist may be that person to journey with you.
The client holds the answers because they are the expert of their own knowing . The therapist provides the space for personal discovery .
In trauma, we're often forced to betray our own intuitions to stay safe. Therapy is about reconnecting to the inner wisdom we've always had but lost access to due to the overwhelming experiences we've faced.
With grief comes a stress that we may never have experienced previously . It can temporarily affect vision and memory to name a few . The hippocampus may shrink however , be assured that it is temporary and eventually its healthy size will return when the stress is reduced.

This visual puts grief in perspective .
Sometimes, when we are grieving, it can feel like we are frozen in time and won't be able to move past something. But this isn't true.💛

Be kind to yourself, rest is also a priority ⭐️
Weave a story using simple materials for the loom such as a branch, cardboard, a recycled wood frame or hoop and adding ribbons , wool or strips of fabric for the warp . There are many ways to express yourself . The weaving process enhances wellbeing . Let your art therapist be your guide .

If you are grieving it can seem that time is standing still . Grief disrupts life .
There are a lot of things that can pop up in day to day life that disrupt our lives and change things.
But there's nothing more deep and profound than loss and grief when it comes to disrupting life and who we are.
A devastating loss turns life as we know it upside down. It turns everything inside out and leaves a trail of wreckage with no end in sight.
The nightmare of loss is a reality no one should have to face and yes, it really is that awful.
It can feel like the grief you now carry disrupts everything and in some ways it does. At least for a while.
Grief disrupts our sleep patterns, the ability to eat, to exercise, and our health.
It disrupts our ability to concentrate. To complete projects started or to follow through on things. It disrupts our memory and suddenly we become foggy and forgetful.
It disrupts our minds, bodies, homes, work, and emotions. It's like a tornado rips through our lives wreaking havoc and nothing looks or feels the same.
Grief disrupts relationships, routines, our security, hopes, plans, and dreams.
It disrupts the future and all we planned to do.
The truth is, grief disrupts life and it disrupts who we are in the most unimaginable of ways. It's difficult if not impossible to explain to the outside world and especially to those who have never experienced life changing loss themselves.
I know how challenging and scary this is. I know it is difficult to step out into the unknown without a guide or any sense of direction of where you are or where you are going.
I know how much loss and grief throw everything off and it can take a long time to find your footing and to find your way forward again.
But you will.
Slowly, you will start to create new routines.
Eventually, the fog will settle and you will be able to focus and concentrate again.
Slowly, your appetite will return, sleep will stabilize, and you will find your way forward to a life that includes finding hope and making plans.
You will learn to carry your grief and eventually, moments of joy will find you.
My heart stands with yours as you navigate all of this disruption. I'm here.
M.
All normal.
