Sarah and Laurence… I had so much fun! What a super sweet couple- we laughed all day! The was absolutely amazing. Hey!👋 it’s been a hot minute so I thought I’d do an introduction post! I’m Nicole, owner of NSP for the last 14 years.. here’s a bit about me:

🌟 Recently I’ve started reading l A moveable feast” again by Hemingway - I want to go to Europe but this will do for now!
🌟 I have two degrees and was a high school teacher in a former life, but right now I homeschool our kids while running NSP 😅
🌟 I want to limewash paint our living room but my husband isn’t on board… help me convince him! 🙃😝
🌟 if I could live extra lives I’d also: be a palaeontologist, archeologist, stand up comedian, gourmet chef, nomad
🌟 I’m a second generation Canadian to refugees - my dad remembered the Germans parachuting down.. they immigrated to Canada and my mother escaped communist Poland and lived in a refugee camp in Austria for a year.

Kevin and Patrick.. I love how every third photo is so candid, giddy, full of laughter! So many beautiful, fun, silly moments were had. Am I currently sipping a Pinot Grigio waist deep in laundry folding wishing I were still editing? Yes. Yes I am. 😂😍

On Saturday I had the privilege of capturing Kevin and Patrick’s stunning wedding at the Malcolm in Canmore. They designed their entire wedding with such care and detail. Every touch was meaningful - but beyond the beauty of the day, was the palpable love in EVERY interaction. I have been doing this a long time .. and never have I seen so much laughter, so many vibrant smiles and such heartfelt speeches. ALSO I’ve never laughed so much during formals 😂 they are seriously a lovely couple and I can’t wait to dive into editing their full gallery!!

I was recently inspired by ‘s post. So often we feel this pressure of conformity to consistency as photographers - something that other types of artist do not seem to face nearly as much. As a painter… when I created in a new style it was always with “ooohs” and “ahhhs”. 🌟
The truth is though… that every wedding is UNIQUE.. not only in its style and theme, but in its lighting situations, the background, the people, I could go on. We face an immense pressure to keep a very consistent, looking portfolio and Instagram page. This feels disingenuous. As you look through our portfolio and Instagram, you may see these differences and it’s something that we are proud of! In fact, the post inspired me to also feature more diverse work in my portfolio for couples to see.
Why is this important? Couples need to understand that their wedding day will look unique to them and their plans and it shouldn’t look like something out of Pinterest. Secondly as artists, we never want to stagnate ..creating the same art with the same look for many years can cause that to happen. ‼️
Over the years you have seen us change our editing style as well as the way we shoot. This is something that will continue to evolve and change over time. This allows us to stay in constant movement and growth as artists. So here’s a smattering of a few images from the last couple of years… 🥂 cheers to all of you doing your thing… staying inspired and creating beautiful memories for people all around the world! ❤️❤️❤️
