Happy Saturday Ya’ll 🌞

These photos were taken as we were walking through the trails of Dale Hodges Park, an area which had been transformed from gravel pit to beautiful natural space and named after Dale Hodges, the former alderman, in recognition of his 30 years of contribution to the city.

Now you can enjoy views of northwest Calgary and COP while looking over a beautiful pond, as well as a field of p***y willows that tiny birds swarm to in order to collect the fluff for their nests 🖤

About the Calgary Trails Project:

With the help of ‘s book it’s my mission to explore 52 Calgary, and surrounding, trails this year, (the trails/walks have to take over an hour to complete). Along the way I will document what I find. Once the goal is complete, I hope to have a wonderful keepsake of my home, I can look at wherever I go, as well as showcase all the treasures Calgary has to offer.

Silver Springs/Bowmont Park West - Calgary Trails Series 3/52

The views at this trail were STELLAR this day. I felt like I was walking in a frozen oasis with temperatures dipping just below freezing, so it was plenty warm to romp around, but still cold enough for the the foliage to collect frost after the recent fog subsided

We stayed out for three hours, completing the western most loop, looking at the wildlife and posting up at one particular pond that was just teeming with life. Squirrels, geese, and also the dueling birds battling for seeds left by generous walkers.

I like to sketch just for fun, thought i’d share this carrier pigeon (aka rock dove) I drew today. He’s not perfect, but I love Pigeons, and I advise you to look up the background story of where they came from if you don’t already know.

Lest we forget the humans and animals that have died in needless wars against hate and evil, let’s pray that one day we will stop repeating history 🙏🏼

Last ones from my shoot with .tler ❤️❤️ this has been my fave shoot I’ve done so far. I loved working with the different light setups and all the candles, and just being able to have fun and try new things. I have definitely fallen in love with studio photography and can’t wait to do more!!
