Academy adds JEREMIAH ADDISON to COACHING STAFF

The Ontario Hockey Academy is pleased to announce former Montreal Canadian prospect Jeremiah Addison has joined our coaching staff.
“Once you meet Addison it doesn’t take long to see why he was a former OHL captain, Memorial Cup winner, and NHL draft pick” says OHA director Giles Lascelle, “He is very detailed in his approach with preparation to individual player and team development. He has academy, Major Junior A Hockey, university and professional playing experience, he will be a great asset to our program as a teacher and advisor to our student athletes.“

“I am passionate about fostering a culture of excellence and growth, both on and off the ice” says Jeremiah Addison. “I am eager to bring my expertise to the Ontario Hockey Academy and excited about the opportunity to join the coaching team while contributing to the development of the next generation of hockey players. “

Jeremiah experience includes attending Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Saskatchewan, voted Major Junior A hockey rookie of the year with Saginaw Spirit, and chosen team captain and a memorial cup champion with the Major Junior A Windsor Spitfires. He was drafted by NHL Montreal Canadiens, played in the AHL, ECHL, and professionally in Europe. Jeremiah earned a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology degree at Ryerson University and Bachelor of Business Administration at St. Francis Xavier University and has been a lead hockey Instructor at several hockey camps.

Emily Pinto Joins OHA Coaching Staff

OHA female hockey is excited to announce the addition of Emily Pinto to our coaching staff. Pinto joins OHA after playing professionally, an NCAA hockey standout career at Mercyhurst University and a graduate year at University of New Hampshire. “She is well connected and knows the dedication and work ethic it takes to play University hockey.” Says OHA director Giles Lascelle. ““She knows the deep talent in Ontario after playing in the Durham West and Mississauga programs. Her strong background as a player, combined with her hockey development experience and academic achievements, will be a tremendous asset to our current expert coaching staff.”

Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Graduate Certificate from the University of New Hampshire. Her impressive academic and athletic achievements reflect a commitment to excellence both on and off the ice.
In her new role, Pinto will bring her experience to a program that has a deep group of young talented players. Her main duty will be to coach and train our girls, and at times she will jump on ice with all female teams while developing the girls’ power in the gym.

Announcing Mat Milberry has joined the Ontario Hockey Academy hockey program.
Matt brings a wealth of experience and success that includes coaching, scouting, player development or playing in AAA to the NHL. Matt attended Hebron Academy where he was captain of the Men’s Varsity Hockey Team, attended Royal Military College while playing for the Men’s Varsity Hockey team, played in the Midget AAA Air Canada Cup National Championship and played Junior A for the Brockville Braves of the Central Canada Hockey League.
He coached Bantam AA, Major Midget AAA and in the Eastern Junior Hockey League. He has scouted for many organizations including the CCHL Junior A Carleton Place Canadians, with the USHL Des Moines Buccaneers Hockey team and worked with the NHL Arizona Coyotes.
“We are thrilled to add experience, leadership, and coaching of Matt to our Ontario Hockey Academy program. He has been a part of some high performance and successful cultures in the past. He is very detailed in his approach and is particular to individual player development. Matt is well connected; I have no doubt that he will do an excellent job with the development of these student athletes.” said Ontario Hockey Director Giles Lascelle.

🚨NHL Signed Contract!

After being drafted by the LA Kings in the 2022 NHL Draft, Kaleb Lawrence has officially signed his first NHL contract with the Kings.

Kaleb spent two years as a Maverick and recorded 85 points in 76 games.

Located in Cornwall, ON, Ontario Hockey Academy joined the CSSHL in 2019/20 and are the current Eastern U18 Prep Champions

National Aboriginal Hockey Championships

OHA has three players represented at the NAHC Tournament this past week.

Congrats on a great tournament!

Congratulations to OHA alumni Louis Adler and the rest of the Revelstoke Grizzlies on winning the Mowat Cup!!

Adler played 16 regular season games for the Grizzlies going 15-0 with a .940 SV%!!

IIHF Womens World Championships

OHA had 33 ladies play for 13 different countries at the IIHF Womens World Championships throughout March and April. These tournaments took place in USA, Austria, Latvia, Andorra, Turkiye, Estonia.

As voted by the coaches, the winner of the Eastern U18 Prep Most Sportsmanlike Award is: Takanobu Hiraga - Ontario Hockey Academy Prep

Hiraga finished 5th in league scoring with 36 points in 22 games and took just 1 minor penalty on the season

4 OHA Prep players have been named to the CSSHL U18 Eastern All-Star team!

Congratulations to Marcus Fjeld, Oliver Kiraly, Oliver Nilsgaard, and Adam Racine on being selected!

OHA Prep had a great season going 18-3-1 in the regular season and going undefeated in playoffs to win the CSSHL U18 Eastern Championship!
