Queen's University is conducting a study on rural artists and has asked me to share the following:

"I am writing on behalf of a research group led by Dr. Tiina Kukkonen, Assistant Professor of Visual Arts Education at Queen’s University.

We are inviting artists, arts administrators, school administrators, and teachers working in rural Southeastern Ontario to participate in a research study exploring how rural artists and educators perceive the role of local artists and artforms in their schools and communities. While there are no direct benefits associated with this study, the results will inform rural arts and culture advocacy efforts and rural arts education practices.

Participation in the study involves completing a 15-minute online survey, where participants will be asked to answer questions about local artists and artforms in relation to their communities and local school(s). Participation in the survey is completely voluntary and anonymous.

The research is funded by a SSHRC Institutional Grant (SIG).
