With some time off from work and school, I (surprise) find myself at a barn☺️
This handsome 9 year old TB/Welsh(?) cross has some issues but he is damn smart and a very good boy who just needs to keep busy..
I’ll put some time into him over the winter holidays and see where we get to.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen these gams! 🤩 Sadly, the club where I got my start back in the early 1990’s has folded, but I was lucky enough to have inherited some wonderful educational tools! These equine legs showcasing the lower anatomy, along with dozens of manuals and study material for the Canadian Pony Club education system will be added to my library - for use in teaching and study.
To sign out materials for short term use, you can message me here. This winter I hope to have my full library inventoried 🐴

I hope one day you meet a difficult horse.
A horse that frustrates you and sometimes says no.
A horse that shatters your dreams and makes you feel hopeless because you cannot solve their problem with what you know.
Why would I wish this upon you?
Because this horse will show you the limitations of your understanding and challenge you to step up and learn.
Sometimes the lessons you will need to learn is to improve your knowledge, skills and self awareness and how you directly impact the horse and make the feel.
You will work hard spending hours in the dust, sun, wind and rain making yourself better to help this horse - and you will do it.
Sometimes the lesson will be one of acceptance that the horse you love and have poured so much time and money into is not sound.
Your heart will break as you now see your difficult horse was just telling you it was struggling.
This horse will teach you to see and know things about horses that you will never be able to un-see or un-know. You will see horses struggling and people (no different than you past self) blind to that struggle.
But this horse will make you a better horsewoman or man, and you will be grateful they came into your life and what they taught you.
The story of you and this horse will always be a hard story to tell. Sometimes when you tell it, you will get tears in your eyes. But it will be one of the most meaningful stories of your life.
You will share this story with others with the hope that it will help them with their horse. So that your horse, can help their horse too.
This is my difficult horse. His name was Skuda and I am grateful what this horse taught me...and if I have helped you with your horse.....well you can be grateful for him too ❤

Our Story
Ginny McLane has been coaching for over 15 years on the island, in New Zealand, Ireland and the UK. She is an active judge and instructor for the Canadian Pony Club, and has been a Regional and National Champion in dressage and eventing. Horses run in the blood - her Aunts ride in the upper levels of dressage, and her great-grandpa grew up riding on the prairies. For Ginny, equestrian sport is a lifelong-learning experience, which suits her academic nature very well: she has a degree in Geology from VIU, and is working on obtaining a Masters in GIS Applications, as well as her Professional Designation as a Geoscientist from APEG BC. In addition to coaching, Ginny works as a remote sensing analyst for a local geoscience company.
Specializing in communication between horse and rider, as well maintaining the principles of the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) as put forth by Equestrian Canada, Ginny strives to pass on long-lasting, rewarding horsemanship skills to her students. Certified by NCCP, VaultCanada, and Equestrian Canada, Ginny continues her education through attending clinics with Olympic riders and continuously updating her coaching skills. In 2018, she hopes to be competing in the jumper circuit on Vancouver Island.
Why "Timberhorse"?
Timberhorse Farm and Timberhorse Logging Ltd were the names of the McLane family business. Both parents had a passion for horses, and Timberhorse Logging evolved from her father's desire to sustainably log areas as opposed to clear-cutting. The company operated from 1994-1998, and Timberhorse Farm was in operation as a family stables and boarding facility from 1999-2003. Ginny is a third-generation rider, with a young daughter who is starting to share her passion for all things equestrian.
