As mentioned before, each month I will showcase one of my personal favorite items in our Etsy store. This month, I have chosen vintage Mexican tooled leather bags! I am always amazing by the work that has gone into these bags from the 1960s-70s and they are still so boho-glam today 🤗

Every month in 2024, I will showcase an item that is one of my personal favorites!

Dating to the later 1910s around WWI, this brass photo frame is very interesting. It has Bellona, the Roman goddess of War, as the personification of Liberty at the top. It is engraved with the name "Albert" at the bottom, the owner of the frame-perhaps the beau of the photograph sitter and a soldier? There are many more French symbols of war throughout.

Although it is getting a little tight for Christmas mail delivery for Etsy listings, you can still vintage jewelry and purses from , in anticipation of their 100 year anniversary in 2024 🎉

The Art Nouveau brass belt buckle, agate pendant necklace and tan coloured purse are available on Etsy. The cream purse and silver baby bangle are available in the AGA store, amongst many other cute items!

I may or may not have become a little obsessed with Bakelite, Catalin and early plastic jewelry in general (I have 😅), especially those popular in the 1930s-40s.

Older plastics is an interesting topic and it definitely takes time to learn how to identify Bakelite, especially the unmistakable phenolic formaldehyde smell when heated. We have a few items available now and more to come!!

1. The bangle is a slightly rarer Catalin/Bakelite colour known as "Blue Moon". SOLD
2. The lariat has large amber swirl Bakelite beads.
