Here, in these photos, I am treating my own horse with craniosacral work following a TMJ mobilization treatment. In my professional opinion these 2 treatments go hand-in-hand, as you will see the results in other photos, of clients’ horses. Even an Equine Chiropractor at the CBHI was impressed with the results of her horse’s treatment.

Craniosacral work is a very unique modality where the benefits of the treatment is to balance the central nervous system. The secondary benefit is to rebalance the fascia the body. Fascia is the only system in the body that connects to every other system in the body.

When the body is compensating due to ill teeth, poor dentistry, bad feet, an injury, bad tack, or poor riding, it affects the musculoskeletal structure of the horse that allows the ability of the horse to move correctly.

When the body has the option to put itself in balanced position, with the help of my hands, the muscles will develop correctly. This treatment would be ideal for colts who are being worked with after weaning.

If you don’t believe me, give me 30-40 minutes of your time and the opportunity to treat your horse. I’ll share with you “before” & “after” results, or the treatment is free.

Are your foals near weaning?
Did you know that this is a great time to introduce equine therapies to foals, to facilitate a smoother transition?

Although weaning can be stressful, massage therapy can alleviate foal anxiety and improve on teachings.

Other therapies such as craniosacral therapy can help with developing symmetry of the skull due to birthing. I’ve had the pleasure of treating foals with birth traumas and witnessing the positive results. Pull-backs are also inevitable with handling and halter training foals, that can cause greater issues in the foal’s growth.

The first photo is of this horse’s natural headset. Observe the placement of the eyes and the twist in the right nostril. Now, compare the second image. Notice how forward the eyes are and the placement of the horses’s nostril and snip. This was achieved in one treatment.

If you’re looking to get professional photos taken of your horses, why not explore the idea of a “natural” headset rather than using photo shop to make corrects in symmetry of your horse’s head.
