Physiological Effects:

Anticholinergic syndrome: This is the main effect of Datura and is caused by the tropane alkaloids (atropine, scopolamine, hyoscyamine) present in the seeds. Symptoms include:

Dry mouth and eyes

Flushed skin

Tachycardia (rapid heart rate)

Blurred vision

Dilated pupils

Difficulty urinating

Constipation

Fever

Convulsions

Coma
