Happy full moon in May. Last month I looked out at the full moon wondering when my baby girl would arrive. Now she’s here ❤️

My work was published in Friend Of The Artist, Volume 17 (p 172-173). These internal landscapes are part of my watercolour painting series about memory and identity connecting the body with environment. Grateful to have my work included and excited to hold the publication.

I’m excited to be participating in the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair again this year (online exclusively). It’s a great opportunity to share my work with the TOAF audience!

Back to a couple of months ago when my studio walls were full of 5x7 inch watercolours

I was recently sent this image of me installing a collaborative artwork made with for our mentorship program exhibition … in 2016. It was a nice memory shared through an email from , thank you! Felt good to be reminded of this positive experience ✨

Bloom series; mixed media on watercolour paper. My process is digitally collating photos that I take, exposing them using solar printing, and painting with watercolour to bring texture and colourful elements from nature into the piece, linking human experiences with nature.

Irradiance is a series of solar prints (cyanotypes) on paper. I laid down on the UV sensitive paper to capture the form of my body, trying to fit inside the edges of the rectangular shape and captured a memory of the moment. After I completed the first one, the words “trying to be born” came to mind.

Here’s an early experiment with cyan printing where I reused my transparency with my design and it gave some added effects to the finished piece.

I’ve created a design using images I took of a landscape and my body, and created a visual collage like a double exposed photograph. Cyanotype captured the design on paper. Using watercolour, I brought back some of the colour elements and organic texture seen in nature.
The two processes brought together form a visual complexity that utilizes digital and traditional modes of working.
