As a bus monitor, your responsibility will be to help transport students to and from pub locations, as well as helping with sign in. Ensuring student safety will be part of the job!

The MES is calling all undergraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering to vote on the 2024 - 2025 annual operating budget. This is an opportunity for students to vote on how $400,000 of student fees should be allocated.

Historically, the MES budget has been formally approved by your elected MES council members (e.g., Mechanical Rep, Eng Phys Rep, etc.). This year, we are allowing ALL undergraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering to vote on this budget. The primary reason is to give YOU, the students, a say in how YOUR money is spent.

For the budget to pass, 3% of the student body must vote. This vote will be conducted virtually on a platform called MacVote, a link to which will be emailed to your McMaster email. Voting will commence on Tuesday, August 13th, and remain open through Thursday, August 15th.

The ballot will have only two options: yes or no, with the guiding question: Do you approve the budget for the McMaster Engineering Society for the 2024-2025 academic year?

The Academic Services Committee (ASC) is an exciting opportunity to run prep sessions for first and second year students within the faculty of engineering to prepare for midterms. Being part of the ASC for the 2024-25 school year means being part of a collaborative environment pushing to make sure that students have the academic resources in place. Some of the prep sessions include but not limited to 1ZA3, 1ZB3, 1D03, 1P13, 2ZZ3, 3Y03 and so much more!

Come out April 4th in your togas for Toga Pub to celebrate the end of year!

Grab your wristbands from @ mes_the drain which will act as your ticket for this event! Ticket sales will run from Thursday, March 28th, at the Drain, located in the Hatch building (next to JHE building) until April 4th when the Drain closes (or while tickets last).

This event is only open to all undergraduate students in the engineering faculty. Tickets are $18! First buses will leave outside of Hatch around 9:40 pm and there will be busses leaving every 10-15 minutes until 11:15 pm. The first buses back to campus will start around 12 am! Don't forget to bring some form of ID (either drivers license or health card) to the venue!

Join our contest to redesign the Drain (Hatch 1st floor)! We’re looking for creative artwork that celebrates Mac Eng culture!

Submit a concept drawing for a mural to go on the entire Drain front facade (including the garage door). All submitted designs will be reviewed, and if chosen to be incorporated into the final wall concept, the winner will be awarded a $50 gift card!

Guidelines include:
- Design must be original.
- Consider the space and make sure your design compliments the area.

~ ☄️ A Night for the Engineers ☄️ ~

Come join us to celebrate and experience the Iron-ring formal with the Faculty of Engineering students graduating this year!

This year’s dinner and dance will take place on Friday, March 22nd, with doors opening at 6:30pm. Transportation will be provided!

Ticket sales will start on February 28th and end on March 6th. They will be sold at the drain!

UPDATE:
All McMaster graduates are welcome to join us and bring a guest. Graduate tickets are $80 and guest tickets are $95.
