Hey Everyone! My Name is Amanda Tomkins and I am a 3rd Year Electrical and Biomedical Engineering Student and I am running for BME Co Pres!

Since campaigning in person is no longer a thing, my original plan of bribing you with my delicious cupcakes no longer holds, so I guess I will need to persuade with my platform.

My main goals I want to achieve as BME Co- President are as follows:

1. Work with the rest of the Society, to increase Academic Resources, such as specific tutoring tailored for our iBiomed Courses, as well as more review and help session for courses such Anatomy, 1P10 Inventor and Python workshops, IBEHS 3A03, Workshops for learning C and Ardunio for 3P04 etc.

2. Work with Admin and the society to further improve mental health resources available to our students. Mental Health is very important to me and while our program is very exciting it is busy and stressful. I want to make sure you have the resources to help you do your best, and be your best.

3. Work with the Society and Other Societies to host even more events. I think having even more events that appeal to different interests will allow different groups to get involved in society. I hope to introduce events such as paint nights, laser tag etc. I also want to work with other societies to organize joint program specific events so that even if you are not in that specific stream(ECE, Chem, HESE etc) you can still learn and participate and get involved in different society events which may be of interest.

4. Finally, I want to make sure your voices are heard. I want to make sure that any changes you want to see happen. I hope to create an open forum where you can make any of your issues heard anytime of the year. Anyone who knows me, knows I am vocal and am passionate about the program and I want the program to be the best it can be. I want to take your concerns and make them known!

The campaign runs from April 21st to the 27th. Voting tentatively Opens March 30th and closes April 1st so be sure to Vote!

If you have any questions feel free to message me and I would love to chat further!

Happy Campaigning and I wish the best of luck to all the Candidates.
