Today marks National Truth and Reconciliation Day - day of collective mourning and immense grief. It is an opportunity to acknowledge the tragic legacy of residential schools, the children who never came home, the families left behind and the survivors of these institutions and to remember that the impacts of the harm and devastation inflicted on Indigenous communities are still felt, and still happen today.
We hope you are able to honour this day in a way that is meaningful for you and that you can take time to learn, unlearn, reflect and show support.

Happy Labour Day! 🎉
Did you know that Labour Day has its roots in an 1872 printers’ strike in Toronto? The strikers fought for a nine-hour workday, marking a significant milestone in the evolving relationship between Canadian workers and their government. 🇨🇦
This struggle for fair working hours was a crucial step in improving labour rights. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the hard work of everyone who ensures our workplaces are safe and healthy. 🙌
Enjoy this time with family and friends! 🎉

Did you know that there are few things that stimulate the brain the way music does? According to researchers at John Hopkins Medicine, "listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory." Therapy can teach you so many things. Here are some lessons from therapy:
-Slow progress is still progress.
-Not everyone will like you.
-Be proud of every accomplishment.
-You are not responsible for other people's happiness.
It's okay to say 'no' even if others are upset with it.
Celebrating World Music Day 2024! 🎵 a global event dedicated to the universal language of music! 🌍🎶 This day, also known as Fête de la Musique, originated in France in 1982 and has since spread to over 120 countries worldwide. It’s a day to honour the power of music in bringing people together, transcending borders, and fostering cultural exchange.
Why Music Matters:
🎶 Emotional Well-being: Music has the incredible ability to lift our spirits, soothe our minds, and provide an outlet for our emotions. It's a powerful tool for mental health, helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
🎶 Cultural Connection: Music reflects the rich tapestry of human culture. It tells stories, preserves traditions, and connects us to our heritage.
🎶 Community Building: Whether it’s through a local concert, a choir group, or a spontaneous street performance, music brings communities together, creating a sense of unity and belonging.
Music therapy uses the healing power of music to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. It’s a proven method for improving mental health, aiding in physical rehabilitation, and enhancing the quality of life for many people. 🎉🎤🎻

Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day – a day for all Canadians to recognize & celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures & outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit & Métis peoples. Indigenous organizations & the Government of Canada chose June 21 to coincide with the summer solstice, a significant day that marks the longest day of the year where peoples and communities celebrate their culture or heritage.
