The last of the tulips and the beginning of the ranunculus blooms are fully stocked in our market shed. Perfect for brightening up this gloomy day.

These beautiful blooms are headed to Fancy Pants Cafe Thursday afternoon. I will be at the Lunenburg Farmers' Market with lots of flowers and haskap goodies Thursday morning and Bridgewater Farmers' Market Saturday morning. I hope everyone has a great Mothers Day weekend! 🌸

Our market stand has been restocked with lots of beautiful tulip bouquets, jams, spreads and more for the weekend! If you’d like to order flowers for local delivery or pick up please do so very soon. I cannot guarantee last minute orders. On a normal day 24 hours minimum is preferred but Mothers Day orders should be done asap please. Happy Friday everyone!

Since our government has decided that sharing news articles on FB is not a good thing we have had to post interesting articles on our X (formally Twitter) account.

Anyway, posted an interesting article about fruits grown in Mexico and the amounts of chemicals found on those fruits. It seems that the great deal you just got on your blueberries or raspberries imported from that part of the world is also giving you something else that you may not want to be consuming. Then everyone wonders why cancer rates are increasing in younger people...

Buy from farms that you know and trust how they are growing the food that they sell. Not only are they interested in their health but they are also interested in growing food that is good for people to consume. We go through a lot of effort to be certified organic, but there is a reason why we do this.

It's that time of year again and we are hiring.

At Lahave River Berry Farm, Chris and Melissa Berry, a husband and wife team, grow certified organic berries, garlic, flowers, some veggies, herbs, and we sell fertilizers and soil amendments.
We are looking for help for the upcoming growing season, approximately from June to October.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-preparing garden beds for planting
-planting
-fertilizing
-weeding
-harvesting berries by hand and using a semi-mechanical harvester - -harvesting vegetables, herbs, and flowers
-cleaning and packaging berries
-recording tasks, lot #'s, any information necessary to maintain our certified organic status
-keeping our on farm market stand stocked
-cleaning and sanitizing work space
-stocking and taking inventory of fertilizers and other products

Job Skills Required:
-must be able to lift 50 lbs.
-must be able to follow and maintain all farm safety guidelines
-must have own transportation to and from work
-must be able to work at 30 hours per week, sometimes more or less depending on weather
-must be able to work as a team and independently
-must be able to prioritize tasks
-must be able to perform tasks efficiently and in a reasonable amount of time
-experience with gardening and customer service considered an asset
-must be able to follow directions and work without constant supervision

Ken from the Lunenburg Farmers' Market is making his rounds and came to visit us this week at our farm stand in Middle Lahave. He’s loving our farm grown tulips! We will have lots of tulips tomorrow morning at the market along with all our haskap goodies, dried citrus, spices and more! Who should Ken visit next? 🌸

It’s such a beautiful day that we opened up our market stand for the season! We’ve got tulip bouquets, haskap berry juice, spreads, jams, eggs, spices, dried citrus and more. We are at 5216 Hwy 332 in Middle Lahave, just 10 minutes from Lunenburg. We also have Gaia Green and Neptunes Harvest fertilizers among others to help you grow your best garden yet. 🌸
