"It was really fun. I got to meet lots of new people and had lots of new experiences. I had really great co-workers who helped me.
There were lots of dogs, kids, and babies. I experienced lots of interesting weather, including a flood, thunderstorms, and a tornado watch and tons upon tons of snow storms.
I really think everyone should apply for this job because it is really fun and very awesome. I feel very proud of myself because this is a one of a kind job. It's important to keep all kids safe when crossing the road.
Here is my quote of the day...
Be who you want to be and be happy all the time even when you have bad days."

Today, we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day, an annual event on the summer solstice dedicated to honoring the diverse cultures, teachings, and heritage of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
As we recognize this significant day, we express our deep gratitude for the privilege to work and engage with our autism community on Turtle Island. We are committed to fostering an environment of respect, learning, and support for Indigenous histories and cultures.
Let’s continue to educate ourselves, listen to Indigenous voices, and support their communities in meaningful ways.

Enjoy some big smiles from Jake's House Community Residences this past week, both at the home and out in the community!
Bowling, Stars on Ice, the Rec Room, Book Store runs, and horse grooming, were some of the many community outings we enjoyed!
For World Autism Month this month, several schools hosted Jake's House Flag Raising events and cheque presentations after organizing DIY fundraisers to support our autism community!
Chaminade College and Iona Secondary School both kicked off their celebration with speeches about the importance of supporting the autism community and their connection with Jake's House.
For example, Chaminade College has made raising the flag with Jake, our namesake, an annual tradition every April 2nd, World Autism Awareness/Acceptance Day, reflecting a strong bond of support and friendship for the past 20 years.
Iona Secondary School's journey with Jake's House is relatively new, yet undeniably impactful. Last year, their dedicated staff organized and hosted a Winter Dance in collaboration with Jake's House, providing a joyous and inclusive environment for over 100 students with exceptionalities.
These events truly showcase the power of teamwork and collective effort in making a positive impact. Thank you!
Thank you MPP Deepak Anand and MPP & Associate Minister Michael Tibollo for joining us on Our Night to Shine and supporting Jake's House!
Happy National Volunteer Week!
It's a time to celebrate the incredible dedication and compassion of our volunteers who make a positive impact on our families with autism.
Today, we're thrilled to kick off Volunteer Appreciation Week by highlighting a recent Impact Day led by the wonderful employees of Ezra. Their support in curating our Legends Mentoring Program Craft Kits allows our families to enjoy these complimentary kits and fosters growth in their creative expression through our programming.
This meaningful connection was made possible by our exceptional volunteer, Will. Starting his journey at Jake's House Toronto In-Person Workshops, Will's passion and experiences have inspired his company to choose Jake's House for their own impactful day of service.
Stay tuned for more Volunteer Appreciation Posts!
