We are looking for volunteers with boats and hope that you may be able to share this with your fellow boaters.

On August 11th and 12th, 2023, my son, Jason Kloss, will be completing a Solo Swim from Niagara on the Lake to Marilyn Bell Park in Toronto. He is raising money and awareness for Mental Health, Dementia and Alzheimer’s in Canada. This is not Jason’s first marathon swim. He successfully swam 65km across Lake Huron in 2011 raising over $20,000 for Cancer Research. This time his goal is to raise $50,000 for CAMH http://www.camh.ca

The fundraising is well underway, as is his training to complete the swim but we are missing a very important element. We need boats and captains to safely navigate and es**rt Jason and his support crew on the approximately 20 hour swim. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing and able to support us in this very worthy fundraising adventure, without which it will be impossible to complete.

Solo Swim Ontario is sanctioning the swim and they require at least two power boats of 30’ or more in length to provide support and crew accommodation. We would like to have a Sailboat 30’ - 40’ in length as a lead boat to provide accurate navigation with a tall mast for the swimmer to follow. We will also need 2 inflatable boats 12’ to 15’ to provide closer monitoring and feeding for the swimmer. This is not an everyday event but promises to be a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

Please consider this humble request and share it with your fellow boaters. We truly appreciate any support you may be able to offer. We welcome cheerleaders and spectators, both on the shore and on the Lake, to help make this event a success. Electrical Work at the Club
Starting today you may see electricians at the club working on on the kitchen and other items. Some intermittent power outages may occur over the next few days. On April 26th and 27th the electricians will be removing out electrical panel so power will be out at the club for likely both days.

Members and Friends of MSC,

I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday June 18th for our MSC Sail Past. Breakfast to be available at 9 am so get your boats rigged and, in the water, ready to go as the procession is to start at noon following the blessing of the fleet at 11:00.

Hope to meet the new members and see all the returning members at the club.
