When fascia becomes dehydrated due to a sedentary lifestyle or over use, it tightens and pulls bones closer together, causing inflammation, stiffness and pain in muscles and joints. It can also pinch nerves, leading to unexpected shooting pains. Under a microscope, fascia resembles netting that can bunch up, forming knots that shorten muscles, tug on tendons, and result in chronic pain, muscle tightness, weakness, and injuries.
Stretching alone isn't sufficient, much like brushing your teeth without flossing. Myofascial release combined with remedial massage therapy proves more effective than foam rolling, or using a therapy gun, to regenerate and restore tissue back to health. It's the deep cleaning our tissues need for mobility, and flexibility!
Understanding our fascial system provides insights into its impact on chronic pain, energy levels, athletic performance, and healthy aging.
I have enjoyed learning about fascia since 2018 🤓📚

Business is thriving at Hometown Healing RMT, and I would like to express my gratitude to both new and returning clients in August and September!!! I have intentionally slowed my pace for the next two weeks to hold space for myself and prioritize self-care. In preparation for the year's end, I recommend that you also give yourselves a break and enjoy my massage and myofascial release therapy services. Upcoming open appointments are booking end of October to December holidays. See the comment section for my online booking link. 🫶

OM YOGA FESTIVAL 2024 default description
Fascia appears throughout our entire body. There are multiple different kinds of fascia, but they are all connected. It can prevent us from touching our toes. It keeps our muscles attached to our bones. It even prevents our organs from knocking together when we jump up and down.
When it’s healthy, it’s flexible, supple, and it glides. Working with myofascial release, I have witnessed amazing benefits from keeping fascia healthy.
- improved alignment and body symmetry
- faster recovery from exercise induced delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS)
- reducing the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite!
- decreased dysfunctional scar tissue adhesioning/increased tissue mobility
- improved blood circulation bringing in healthy oxygenated nutrients, and flushing out metabolic waste products
- significantly reduce day-to-day pain!
- improved flexibility for athletic performance, especially on repetitively used muscle activation patterns!
Keeping your fascial system healthy is essential because it is so widespread. There are ways that I can help using knowledgable, targeted techniques and various manual therapies.
Book an appointment to learn more or to experience the benefits for yourself! Booking link is posted in the comment section. I am pre-scheduling for last week of April into May & June.
Hope you are all keeping hydrated and have plans to stay active this weekend!
Client Communication; April Availability
I truly love my job!! Although I desire to help as many clients as possible... I know it comes with a limit to how many clients feels right.
Taking a glance into April, I am still able to hold space for new & existing clientele from April 18th-April 30th. Only 5 booking days remaining for MFR Massage in Moose Jaw with April 18th being my soonest availability. April 1st-17th is waitlist only.
I am so grateful and inspired by the incredible clients I have met and continue to work with. There have been many opportunities to learn and grow from. Thanks for following along in real time and for continuing to send referrals my way. I appreciate that!
Take care and maybe see you again this month if it aligns! ☺️

“Together, let’s embrace the journey toward optimal well-being.”
Let the wisdom of Gabor Mate, from his book “When the Body says No- The Cost of Hidden Stress” sink in deep: we hold the reins of our health destiny.
It's not merely about receiving treatment, but about actively participating in our wellness journey. When we're unwell, it's essential to step into our power as active participants.
Our medical system may sometimes falter in fostering this collaborative approach. Doctors may be experts, but they're not the sole authority. YOUR experience, YOUR insights, YOUR needs matter. Advocate for yourself. Speak up. Be heard. Your health journey deserves your active participation.
Taking ownership of your health isn't just empowering—it's liberating. That means following through when it gets hard, creating the healthy habits, and making the chances needed to be well. It's a testament to your strength and resilience.
As a united team of patient and practitioner, we can rewrite the script. 📝 Let's reclaim your voice and agency in your healing process. Together, let's embrace the journey toward optimal well-being.
11 years as a Registered Massage Therapist with Natural Health Practitioners of Canada 🥰
How to take care of your fascia between appointments:
1. Hydration (your fascial tissue acts like a sponge)
2. Movement (for improved fluid transportation)
3. Touch (yoga ball release, self-massage, foam rolling to keep adhesions from sticking together)
4. Slow, mindful stretching (your morning yawn and full body stretch, it is called pandiculation and it helps us to unwind from static sleep positioning)
5. Bouncing (think omnidirectional jumping, dancing, running, etc. The dampening of each bounce helps to strengthen your connective tissue!)
Things to avoid as much as possible:
1. Static positions (sitting, slouching)
2. Repetitions (one-sided strain or workouts)
3. Too quick stretches (it's slower than muscles)
4. Too deep stretches (it can microtear)
5. Stress (it's one of our richest sensory organs)

I'm Dr. Richelle Galay, clinician and owner of Vibrant Naturopathic Clinic.
Welcome!
If you are new to our page, here's the deal:
We are a women's health focused clinic. ♀️(think fertility, PCOS, endometriosis, menstrual concerns)
We look to foster a deep connection with the patients we serve. A connection that allows women to feel heard, supported, guided and part of a bigger community.
And when I say we, I mean myself and all those that help this little clinic of mine run.
My lovely VA, Autumn.
My family and friends that support me.
And the multiple business mentors I work with.
It really is a team effort!
So welcome! Glad you are here. 🥰
On International Women’s Day, I celebrate the women who have changed my life for the better!
Many of you are included in my circle of women I know, love and trust! 💕
Special shout-out goes to Cathy & Rebecca, my colleagues at Wellness Within Integrated Health Clinic. Cathy created a beautiful work space and with her mentorship and guidance, we gained the confidence to pursue our small business goals at her clinic! Rebecca is a woman that inspires me to be who I am, to feel how I feel, free of judgement, and there is nothing more enjoyable than a friend who you can be your weird, authentic self with every day! We have grown to laugh and cry with each other, and I look forward to each day that I get to work with both of these ladies!
💗
Tell us about a woman who inspires you. ✍🏽👇🏽
