👋🏽 Say hello to our newest practicum student, the amazing Anne-Marie from Yorkville University! Here's what she has to say about joining the centre:

---

I am delighted to join The Women’s Centre of Halton as a practicum student to fulfill the final component of a Master of Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University.

For the past 20 years, my career has been focused in the broadcast media industry; specifically in market research and revenue management.

I have a background in health and fitness, completing a BA Hons in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. I am an avid runner, cyclist and triathlete. Through sport I found a passion and connection to others as we worked together to face obstacles and achieve personal success in many areas of life. I decided to embrace this passion by returning to school at middle age in an effort to improve the well-being and mental health of others. Over the years I have encountered and overcome significant personal challenges and am dedicated to guiding others to achieve meaningful and sustainable change in their lives.

Outside of work and sport, I enjoy spending time with my family; husband and two young children, who keep me balanced and centred.
