We were thrilled to host some of Ashbury'a Old Boys for a summer reception and tour of the Wilgress Archives. As Michale Barnes '73 wrote,

“This September 5th will mark the 62nd year of my arrival at Ashbury as an 8-year-old boarding student. Who would have thought Ray Anderson, my gym teacher and athletics coach and I would reminisce over six decades later looking at the 1964 school photo of me sitting on the ground in front of Mr. Anderson. Without a doubt the reception was a great success and much enjoyed by all. Being welcomed back in such a fine manner makes it even more special.”

Ashbury College's Executive Director of Enrollment and Advancement, Bruce Mutch, will be visiting Poland and Germany from September 27 to October 6. Bruce is eager to connect with alumni, educational consultants, and both prospective and current families, offering them a chance to engage and discover what continues to make Ashbury College such a special community for our students and their families. TOSHKA BESHARAH-HREBACKA, Alumni '21
Toshka will be representing Canada at the Paris Summer Olympics as a member of the Canoe Kayak Canada’s Women’s Kayak 4 team in the 500M! In the fall, she will be entering her fourth year Bachelor of Science Honours in Translational Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

The Women’s K4 500m heat will take place on August 6th at 10 am Paris time. Best of luck at the Olympics! Your dedication and hard work inspire us all.

We received a check-in from recently retired Geri-Lee Godkin from Reykjavik, Iceland who ran into Emily Amano '18. According to Geri-Lee, "Emily is loving the beautiful country and her experiences thus far which also includes coaching young soccer players around aged 9 and running a tutoring business on the side via Zoom to several students, even some Ashburians. She is loving her team in Iceland and hopes to get back on the pitch once she finishes her recovery from ACL surgery. “

Yesterday, we were thrilled to be visited by former faculty members Lionel Tanod and Bob Zettel.

Congratulations to our very own Amy Grieg for winning the Prime Minister's Certificate of Achievement for Teaching Excellence in STEM! As Ashbury College's science department head, Amy Greig is a driving force behind the school's integration of innovative teaching practices. She proactively seeks out cutting-edge technologies to enhance students' learning experiences, generously shares her expertise, collaborates with colleagues, and actively contributes to the professional development of her school's entire teaching community.
