The winner of the 2024 Chief's Chili Cook-off presented by Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services was Ottawa Fire! Congratulations!

The Ottawa Fire Services - Service des incendies d'Ottawa Chief has done it again, taking home the title at the Chief’s Chili Cook-off presented by Beechwood Cemetery for the second year in a row! Thanks to everyone who tasted the chili and voted!

Good morning! It’s race day for 9runrun presented by Minto Communities Ottawa!

Important times:
• Onsite race kit pick-up in the Recovery Zone and Expo presented by NuVista Mental Health in Village Square Park: 7am
• 5K: 8:00 am
• 10K: 9:00 am
• Kids 1K: 10:30 am
• 15K Challenge: Run the 5K at 8:00 am, followed by the 10K at 9:00 am!

PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO race day registration.

You can pick-up your race kit onsite beginning at 7am in the Recovery Zone and Expo presented by NuVista Mental Health in Village Square Park. Please arrive with enough time to get to the start line before your event.

Traffic note: Abbott St. West between Stittsville Main and West Ridge Dr. will be closed 7:00am-11:00am. West Ridge Dr. between Beverly and Eliza St. will be closed intermittently 8:00am-10:30am and monitored by Ottawa Police. Travelling on West Ridge Dr. there may be delays approaching Abbott St.

Parking note: Parking is available close by on side streets north and south of Abbott. Other options include the Royal Canadian Legion of Main Street and Sacred Heart High School located about 800m east of the start line on Abbott.

The crowd favourite, Chief's Chili Cook-Off presented by Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services returns for another year! Who will take the trophy for 2024, Fire, Paramedics, or Police? The Chiefs will be cooking up their very own recipes and you get to taste and vote!

Footwear 4 Kids Foundation will be onsite to collect donations of gently used or new shoes. This local organization will recycle and distribute your donations to low-income children, youth, and families in need in our city.

You can pick up your race kit today Friday, October 18, at our official race kit pick-up sponsor Bushtukah Stittsville, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. You can also register onsite at race kit pick-up.

They will also be onsite on race day to provide pre and post run Physiotherapy or RMT treatment. Stop by and chat with their RMT’s or Physiotherapists about any issues you might be having during a 5 minute consultation and enter to win a self-care package including a Massage.
