While reading can expand our minds, it’s not the sole path to change. It’s time to turn pages into action! Discuss race, confront biases, and uplift the underrepresented. Let’s move beyond words to create a fair and just society. Take a look at Nicole Cooke’s essay ‘Reading Is Only a Step on the Path to Anti-Racism’ to learn more.

It’s time to sign up for our next Caregiver’s Workshop - Supporting Your Loved One with Eating Disorder Recovery. This online workshop is happening on Friday, May 17th from 9am-4:30pm and is free for residents of Saskatchewan.
Through the lens of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), BridgePoint offers support for caregivers that is rooted in a deep belief in the healing power of families. The model provides parents and other caregivers with the tools to restore connection in their relationship with their loved one and feel more empowered when faced with tough situations. In this workshop, caregivers are supported to identify, work through, and overcome many obstacles that surface through the journey of emotional and behavioural change.
Participants will learn practical skills to strengthen relationships, increase cooperation, and respond to strong emotional reactions including expressions of worry, anger, hopelessness, and even silence. Parents and caregivers will learn to navigate and guide their loved ones experiencing big feelings, emotional dysregulation, and/or mental health issues.

Oppressive systems such as fatphobia, racism, s*xism, ableism to name a few have profound influence on how we see ourselves, how see others and how we understand the world we live in.
This may look like addressing areas of privilege you have and how you benefit from these systems but it may also look like understanding how you or others have and are being oppressed and what messages you may have internalized.
This way you can make space for any emotional experiences that may arise that need healing, try and externalize these systems from your sense of worth, and commit to challenging these systems and aligning your actions with your values.
