A couple of mossbags โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›

I have been engaging in numerous conversations about pregnancy cravings lately. The responses I have received range from the desire for milk to an obsession with popcorn. My second pregnancy craving was orange juice and hot sauce. What was yours?

Sorry for being MIA for the past little bit!
I got really busy with work and my own life and I just had to take a step back for a minute to collect myself and be able to create with a less tired mind and without feeling forced too.
BUT IM BACK AT IT!
Here are a couple moss bag I have brought to work! So if your having a baby soon at the hospital, you might be receiving one of these ones ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’
Happy to be back and feeling refresh, ๐Ÿ’–

Testing out a new needle for the sewing machine, so we needed to make a mossbag, ๐Ÿค—
Made with deer hide.
Each time I sew I seem to always learn something new about sewing. I also canโ€™t listen to podcasts as itโ€™s much for me ๐Ÿ˜†
So I need new music recommendations as Iโ€™m always listening to Miley Cyrus.

Happy January!!
Well, 2023 was such an amazing entry year into this new world! I have met other amazing birth workers, connected with other indigenous communities around Saskatoon and around Canada and northern USA. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ and I found a love and passion for creating mossbags!! ๐Ÿฅฐ
With that, I am now going to be asking for a deposit for the moss-bags Iโ€™ll be creating for you. I have spent many hours making moss-bags when requested only for the customer to have found another one or just completely ghost me. Which is fine as I took the created ones into my work place, but my work doesnโ€™t pay for my home stock, and In order to keep these orders a-going, I will now need deposits!

I have so many creative goals for 2024 and more courses, self learning so I can help with not just creating a safe swaddle for your baby but to help with our postpartum world!

Happy December!!๐ŸŽ„

Sorry, I know itโ€™s a couple days late but I have been busy creating mossbags! And I think thatโ€™s what I will be focusing more on this month. ๐Ÿค
I have to remember to take it slow and not let my actual work get to me as November was a โ€ฆ month.
On the happier side of that I did make a couple beautiful mossbags for those beautiful babies and I have been asked to make a bonnet as well! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ so, here I go today on this beautiful Sunday to learn how to make bonnets and I will post more mossbags later!
Thank you for readingโฃ๏ธ

evening shifts I like to think I have time to make one mossbag. as I am still learning this skill, I like to put my heart and love into each one of these I make. some nights are busy, the more purple you see the more activity we have. and that made my weekend pretty busy. I was able to be apart of some great families this weekend but it was also a lesson I will be needing to add to my practice. with each family I help we tend to make a birth plan to help ease that mind. but like I said, this weekend was a lesson, something I need to remind my families and for myself. that not every birth plan will go the way you plan it on paper. some babies have their own plan and thatโ€™s ok too! Healthy baby, but we have to make sure our mothers are being taken care of too.

With each one I create I am learning more about why we use them and the comfort the babies get from being in one. Each part of the moss bags has its teachings and reasonings and itโ€™s also made with love. โฃ๏ธ

Happy October!
I am so happy to be entering this month with a more calm mind!
September was pretty crazy! I did my first few night shifts at the hospital! I helped families bring in some new fall babies! ๐Ÿ‚ It has made me realize I should learn more and offer more postpartum help. As someone who has had it pretty severe, this is my goal!! ๐Ÿ’ซ
โ€ข
Iโ€™m thankful this past weekend my husband took me out into the bush and was โ€œtrainingโ€ me to become a better hunter. I honestly feel so much better after that. I feel recharged and I was so happy we hunted our dinner last night! That was so neat and I am SO grateful!
What are you grateful for? Since we are in the thanksgiving month! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿงก

Currently edited out the pricing on the page. This is something I have been thinking about for awhile, with helping other mothers during their pregnancy.
With this thought in mind I am trying to remove the cost barrier to an easier access to that support.
With that being, I am currently only doing payment plans, and discussion of something affordable for both parties.

I feel like an emotion, physical and spiritual support during pregnancy/labour shouldnโ€™t cost you more then what this world currently doing with uprising prices on everything else! ๐Ÿ’•

Birth Doula | indigenousbirth I am a trained professional doula who will help you throughout your pregnancy, labour and leading into the postpartum period. With my training I can provide you

In order to create that bond and safe space between the mother and I, I would love to create a new pricing & payment plans.
Pricing are going to be much lower! With an affordable rate for our community. There will also be the options of payment plans and Iโ€™m also hoping itโ€™s low enough that this can reach and help out with our indigenous women!
I understand the pricings of the outside world just seem to get higher and higher and one thing we donโ€™t need to stress about, especially if you are expecting is to find that birth support help with another high pricing rate.

Prices on the website will still be the old ones until I edit it out!
But message or comment if you know anyone expecting and looking for a indigenous birth doula!

August 1 - 7 is !
Iโ€™ve managed to feed 3 of my children for their first year of life and I felt like that was enough to keep me sane. Iโ€™m a supporter of fed is best! But I know some people can get a little to pushy and make you feel that momguilt.
I definitely got that a lot with Sage when I wanted to quit because I found it tough, and again with Forrest when I was so far in the , but that guilt would set it, so I kept trying and forcing. Either way , my children are happy, healthy, and Iโ€™m still working my self part of my mom journey! ๐Ÿ’ž
Everyone has their own breastfeeding journey and Iโ€™m here for it all! Sending all the love to those who
๐Ÿผ wanted to but had low supply
๐Ÿผ felt mom guilt for not breastfeeding
๐Ÿผ wants to stop feeding but feels like she canโ€™t
๐Ÿผ is mourning the loss of the journey she hoped for

& remember to offer you help for those are who are breastfeeding. It literally does take a village,
๐Ÿผ so show up
๐Ÿผ Do those dishes
๐Ÿผ Make her a cup of tea
๐Ÿผ Make her a sandwich
๐Ÿผ Allow her to rest/shower

*if you need that postpartum help! Check out my bio and check out crocusdoula! They have many amazing postpartum help there๐Ÿ’ž

To all those expecting humans out there:
๐ŸŒธ
Try your best to enjoy these moments, flutters, kicks.
๐ŸŒธ
Pamper yourself and honour the amazing things your body is doing - growing and protecting another life.
๐ŸŒธ
Remember that once baby is born, all of these amazing things don't go away. They happen and then evolve into other amazing things (making milk, hormones, instincts) - still growing and protecting another life.
๐ŸŒธ
And with these new postpartum things, don't forget to still honour what your body is capable of. Continue to pamper and love this body. It is so incredible.
