Wednesday, August 7, 2024
7:00 p.m.
St John's Cathedral, Saskatoon
Hosted by Saskatoon Opera

"Newly Out" is a collection of art songs characterizing some of my experiences during my first year as an out gay woman 🌈 Some compositional things that are really special and exciting for me:
❤️ I wrote my own libretto
🧡 I composed these songs for my range, contralto
🩷 Representation of women-who-love-women in classical art song
💜 Q***r representation in classical art song

This song cycle was made possible thanks to the Canadian Art Song Project's Chung-Wai Chow and John Wright Mentorship Program. Thank you so much, CASP, for this opportunity ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩵🤍🩷🤎🖤
