Who loves spending extra money fixing things when they get ruined??? NOT US!!!! It’s the small things that make a big difference! We cover all of our window sills, tubs and showers right at framing stage!
They all get inspected and then covered to prevent any accidental scratches or damage! We use Armour surface protection to cover these prone to damage areas!!!
Our most recent possession! We recently did a post about this job, and here it is completely finished!! Thanks so much to Bob and Kim for trusting us with your new home! There is a great saying that says, “Results don’t happen over night. Work hard, stay consistent and be patient”! Bob and Kim first reached out years ago, and we couldn’t be more happy with how their home turned out!
What a story!! One of our most recent possessions was a insurance Re-build for a customer who’s house was driven thru by a tractor trailer full of scrap steel! Fortunately our customer and their family had gotten up to check the water boiling on the stove when the truck drove thru where they had been sitting!
This build went super smooth. We have done numerous insurance Re-builds in the past and this one was super easy with the insurance company! We got this customer in their home in just under 6 months and they are back to living a normal life!!
Thanks so much Bob and Shirley for choosing us!!
Update on our Ross Haven build! Last week we got our foundation in and poured. It has since been all stripped and we will be backfilling later this week after the waterproofing and weeping tile has been completed!
One of our more current starts going in! This house is built in a location with extremely Sandy soils. We went the extra mile to wrap the entire weeping tile and gravel system in drainable filter fabric. This will filter out any sand to ensure a long lasting, proper draining weeping tile system!
You can also see us backfilling our garages! Standard procedure for us, is to backfill in 8” lifts and compact the fill to make sure no voids ever appear under the garage slab!
Possession Day!!!
Here are some photos of our most recent build we turned over Monday!
8.5 months ago (ish) this property was a fully treed 4 acres. Jason and Tonia had purchased the land from us and brought us a plan they had designed. We took care of all the site cleaning, road building, site services, building an RV camping space and storage area in the back of the property, as well as constructing the home!
This home has a ton of cool features so take a peek! As always, this wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of all of our trades and suppliers, so THANK YOU! Also a huge THANK YOU to Jason and Tonia for giving us the opportunity to build your new home! Congrats!!! 🎉
Off to the races on our next spring start out in the Summer Village of West Cove! This lakefront property requires a different foundation system then most homes.
We screwed in these 15’ screw piles with 2 Helixes on them to support the home. These piles are engineered to hold a specified amount of load based on the amount of torque required to screw then into the ground. These specific piles would be capable of supporting 17,000 lbs+
Tomorrow we plan to pour our strip footing and then we will pour our foundation wall on top of it! Stay tuned!!
Starting one of our spring builds out at Hubbles Lake! Man are we lucky we get to work in the places we do. We will soak in this lake view for the next few months.
Here is our excavation for our walkout basement, we also added some retaining walls to suit the grades on site. As a standard we install 2-15mm rebar (which is not a code requirement) to ensure we have the strongest foundations. We also pour type 50- 32 Mpa sulphate resistance concrete which is almost double the strength of standard code required concrete.
Stay tuned!!
Possession day! We turned this nice 1200 square foot cabin/home over to its lucky owners late last week. Thanks so much Ken and Linda for giving us the opportunity to work with you guys. It was an absolute pleasure and you were excellent to work with!
Hardi Install- the last few days we have been working on the exterior of this home. While Kurt has been dealing with meetings, and paperwork, Chris has been doing soffit, fascia, and trimming out all the windows, doors, and corners.
Now we begin to fill in all the spaces i between with Woodstock Brown James Hardi!
Sign drop day! Excited for our 3 spring starts we have going on. 2 in Parkland County and 1 in the Summer Village of West Cove!
Each home is unique in their own ways.! We hope to break ground starting April 1st and each job will follow one another!
That’s a wrap! Great day was had by all during this possession.
Jarod and Miranda, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to work with you guys, you were super easy going and made our Job extremely enjoyable.
A huge shout out to Alysha and Jordan for the referral. We built their home about 4/5 years ago and they passed our names onto their friends as they were struggling to find a builder they were comfortable with. Our business is 99% word of mouth based so it’s nice to see people spreading our name, and we even have a referral program$$$
Thanks so much to our trades and suppliers for making this one happen!
It’s been a while! Here’s a possession we had a week ago! We had Jared, Natasha and Family contact us after meeting thru our kids at school. They bought a fully treed 88 acres and reached out to see how we could help.
We took the complete project on from start to finish. It started with walking thru the bush to locate the build site, to clearing the trees, building the road and constructing the home complete with services.
We know we say it very often about our customers, but it was an absolute pleasure working with you guys! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to create a place you can now call your new home!
Also a huge shout out to all of our amazing trades and suppliers for making this project come to life once again.
Pour day! Thanks to Entwistle Concrete, and FXC for the great work. Framing will commence in a couple weeks
This was our very first home we built back in 2008. This place was built on a lake and west facing. A few times every year they get crazy high winds with wind driven rain.
Back in 2008, the windows had a design error, which was allowing water to enter into the window cavity and was rotting out the structure of the window. We got called in to replace all the windows on the North, West, and East elevations.
We were thrilled to see that all the hard work we put in 14 years ago did what it was supposed to do and no water damage or rot was discovered.
On the new installs, we are using our newest sill product, which is a manufactured sloped sill to allow any possible water that does enter the surrounding window cavity to be drained to the exterior!
Excited to start this new project tomorrow. Our customer contacted us about a lot that we had purchased last year. They came to us with their plan they had designed. We will be onsite mulching trees tomorrow and doing site prep for this super cool house. Construction on this home will begin in a few weeks. Stay posted!
Last week we got going on the exterior of our shop with office space, gym ect. As we mentioned before, we self perform on a bunch of different scopes of work on each of our builds. The customer had requested a wood looking exterior but wanted maintenance free so we had do up some custom siding and trim boards for us.
Another dig under way! We got a short break from all this rain to get the hole dug, and driveway built! As we finished the last bucket of gravel, it started to pour. Hope Mother Nature works with us going forward.
It’s been a busy last 2 weeks. This site was fully trees 2 weeks ago. We moved in with the necessary equipment and removed about 2 acres of trees, built the road, excavated the foundation, poured the footings, and stood the walls.
We had our customer call us and change their mind about 24 hours before concrete arrived for the footings, that they wanted to have a walkout basement after all. We made the necessary adjustments, brought the equipment back to site to dig out the necessary locations and still made our time lines.
As a custom builder, we always like to make what ever changes are requested by our clients, even if they are last minute to ensure they will never regret a decision.
GO Oilers!!!!!
Couple days late, but super happy how this one turned out. Liane and Randy are family friends who’s son we built for a few years back. Thanks so much you guys for trusting us with your home for the next 5 years!
Garage Build out at Jackfish Lake. Seems like lately nothing is straight forward. This garage is built into the bank shown in the photos. The back foundation wall of the garage is 10’ tall and we step down the foundation as required. We also installed 2 retaining walls to ensure we can get proper drainage away from the building. Stay tuned
POSSESSION DAY! One of the things we love most about what we do, is seeing our clients reaction and excitement to receiving their new home. One of the things that we dislike is the fact that after possession day, we don’t get to have the same daily conversations with the amazing clients we get to work for. Doug and Janet, thank you so much for trusting us with your new home. It was a very smooth process with you guys and we appreciate the friendship we have gained.
Shout out to all of our amazing trades and suppliers for helping us pull this one off. Without your help in delivering materials on time and executing the quality of workmanship we request, our homes wouldn’t be the same.
Truly, THANK YOU!!
Gorgeous day to get the spring starts going. This 30x30 shop with living space above features a 30x20 clear span deck, custom wood tones James Hardi siding,
a rustic feeling second floor with lots of T&G pine. Thanks to and for getting it done.
Update on our Birch Cove job! All finishing complete, railing install by and stained by ,painting has begun and nailed the fire place stone install again. We will self perform the exterior in which we will start Monday. So nice to have the entire building wrapped with typar house wrap at framing stage so we can keep pushing thru with construction inside amidst the cold weather
That’s a wrap! 8 working days, with a few interruptions, and we finished this place off! The custom wood grain accent is stunning and the house is starting to look exactly like it’s renderings.
Busy week with multiple different jobs. We spent a day siding the big west wall on our Ross Haven build, and was able to get a start on the north side as well. Our customer selected a custom wood finish that did on primed siding. Wow it’s stunning! We will post more photos along the way
Here’s a look at another one of our job sites located out at tree farm estates in Lac. Ste Anne county.
We have our framers, who we have been using for 6 years, wrap all of our exterior walls with our custom label house wrap prior to being stood.
Typar is a woven air barrier, with a microporous coating that allows interior moisture to escape while repelling any exterior moisture. It has superior tear out strength, when installed properly, which allows it to withstand the winds it’s exposed to during the construction process.
This process allows us to keep the house dry once the shingles are on, and prevents any unnecessary moisture from entering our homes. We feel that it’s all the small details that makes a great product!
2 months and 2 weeks with alot of hard work and dedicated trades to make this new lake house take shape. Drywall is up, tapers are started, and we are working on the exterior. With the current supply chain issues, it has made our job more difficult as we have had to schedule and plan 4-6 weeks ahead, but constant communication with our customers, trades, and suppliers allows us to keep moving forward.
Window day! This is our job out at Birch Cove. We installed the windows and doors today. Like always we prepped all of our openings with pre-sloped sill pan and composite shim system. These guys have the best product on the market in our opinion to prep your openings. We will follow behind with the blue goo around the sides and top of the nailing fl**ge to ensure no water infiltration.
