Heard of Better Help? If you listen to podcasts that have anything to do with personal growth and that also have ads, chances are you've heard of Better Help. Better Help really upped their marketing in 2020 when covid 19 hit and so far as I can tell their marketing has not slowed down. Here's a great review article written by one of my colleagues. Very thorough.
I signed up for online therapy to see if it actually works ***

Do you ever wonder why you act the way you do? Here's one piece of the answer. Our responses can be automatic and out of our control -- until we tune into our neurophysiology and bring unconscious processes into conscious awareness--no small feat. The more i learn about this the gentler I am with myself.

Soothing the Threatened Brain: Leveraging Contact Comfort with Emotionally Focused Therapy Social relationships are tightly linked to health and well-being. But relationship distress remains a significant public health problem in North America and....
Most couple's therapists have had to work with at least a few couples who have to deal with differing perspectives/points of view on covid, vaccines, masks-either between partners or among family members. Here's an article that gives some resources that will help you navigate these difficult conversations. The webinar put out my mediators in Winnepeg looks good.

A wild goose was taken to an animal hospital. His mate knocked on the door to find him. "We opened the door and gave Arnold his flow-by oxygen in the doorway. His mate immediately calmed down and began to groom him through the door."

Given the heavy news related to the outcomes of racism and colonization this story inspires.
A Texas bakery faced a backlash for its Pride-themed cookies. But then the allies showed up. "For every nasty and hateful person, there are 2,500 or more that are amazing and loving."
Yes, couples, do talk about finances. Over the years my partner and I have switched on and off managing our household finances. My partner is actually more skilled than I in terms of financial strategy and planning. I could probably figure it out, but it's not as much an interest of mine. Has been very helpful that from time to time that I've taken my few years turn at being in charge of the finances. I totally get it when I'm told "Don't spend any money till after our credit card bill gets paid in a few days," or "This $400 on our credit card, what was this for?" etc.

What is biology doing in relationships? - Imago Center of Washington DC When my nervous system meets your nervous system, the relationship merry-go-round begins. If I want to be co-regulated with you, I may need to understand what is happening with me. Relationships are rooted in our nervous systems.
Here in Ontario, Canada we are stuck in a brutal 3rd wave of covid. Young people are landing in our ICU’s and our medical folks and front line workers are bone weary and frightened and burning out. Plus we have partisan politics rearing it’s ugly head from time to time. Plus the couples with kids I am seeing on zoom these days are really struggling. Plus I haven’t touched my grandkids in a long, long, long time. Etc. etc. etc.
Against this backdrop I watched this video from people thousands of miles away. It nourished hope in me, hope that sometimes I feel withering on the vine.

My first job after MSW school was with the domestic Violence Project in Ann Arbor, Michigan. There I heard this: " Don't ask 'why does she/he stay?' That's focusing on the victim. Ask, 'Why does she/he keep hitting?' " This innovative program in Calgary is a lovely step along the way to focusing on the perpetrator.
